@Transcend: what do you think of Storm's vote vs Kain's vote (and further justification)?

@Syryana: I am quite curious to hear more. What are you referring to with regards to setup spec?

@Stormcloud:
Not necessarily inclined to say it's scummy, but your vote hop to CK is a bit strange. Thinking over your reads is well and good but flipping your read from a justified nullread to a justified scumread over the course of two posts is a bit odd, since you presumably read over CK's posts before calling him a nullread. Did you see the line where he said he was locking in his vote on me when you made post , or did you just entirely miss it? Given that Kain also used it to further justify his vote in it seems like a strange thing to miss (although I actually missed that line of CK's post and misinterpreted what Kain was referring to so :X). With early reads, your mileage may vary from player to player or from game to game (I've had games where I struggle to form any solid reads the entirety of day one, I've had games where I come out of page ~3ish with several strong townreads and occasionally a decent scumread).

I agree on the vote hop being a bit odd - perhaps it takes me longer to think through what things might indicate town vs scum? I posted initially with my thoughts on the interaction, but I guess I just focused on different parts of it and that part didn't really ping my radar until a second read. I made the first post right after I woke up, and I thought about the situation in the car on my way to work, then posted the second post once I arrived.

I do tend to skim when I read books and only catch certain details on a reread, so I guess I'm not sure why this is problematic. I could have read the thread when I woke up and then waited a while and thought a bunch before posting, but like I said earlier I thought putting my thoughts on the situation out in the open is more helpful than bottling them all up for later. It probably means I'll be changing my views and reads a bit more often, but I don't see an issue with that. I think I'd do this regardless of alignment.

Hopefully that answers your issues regarding the vote switch. The vote on Gamma was just because my RVS vote was still up and Gamma was the person I wanted to hear from the most at the time I made that post. After thinking a bit more I decided to change it to CK. I'll probably leave it there until he gets back on and responds at least.

this is the only part that i care about. because yeah looking over that it's awkward as heck.

@Kain: why did you wait until 15 to call out Comm & vote? there was plenty of time between the post in question and your post after

implosion's vote is opportunistic but Kain's isn't? what? if anything it should be the other way around.

for the record: i like stormcloud changing his mind on CK, even if i don't agree with it. (it comes down to a theory difference as far as i see, and yes comm is completely wrong but it doesn't feel ill-intentioned)
what i dislike is Transcend trying to paint it as a stretch for an opportunistic vote.
and 46 bothers me as well. i mostly don't see any honest attempt to scumhunt & a lot of vote hopping.

storm's posts do feel pretty stiff and awkward i'll say that at the very least but that could be newbie awkward or scum awkward (or both) and it's basically null in the grand scheme of things

Agree with Parama on liking Storm's read change, but not quite for the same reason; Stormy's new analysis of Comm and the fact she's still voting him for that reasoning is wrong imo but the vote change itself pings town.

Nevermind the substance of the reads, I don't think there was any scum motivation behind changing a scum-fabricated Comm townread to a scumread that quickly, calling attention to herself in the process. I believe newbscum would simply stick to their guns, and if they had a good enough reason, change their read later.

Curious if Syry saw it this way too.

This interests me more than Kain's Comm vote.. what would you say is opportunistic about it?

Parama in terms of the "opportunism" between implo/Kain, I think town!Kain is much more likely to make a bad vote like that than town!implo

Okay I tr Tweet and Comm so fmpov this leaves 15 teams.

implo
syr
gamma
kain
parama
storm

1. Gamma-implo
2. Gamma-Kain
3. Gamma-Parama <------ low key hope this is the scum team due to the rhymes ahahahahahaajaajhjhajahaj
4. Gamma-Storm
5. Gamma-Syr
6. implo-Kain
7. implo-Parama
8. implo-Storm
9. implo-Syr
10. Kain-Parama
11. Kain-Storm
12. Kain-Syr
13. Parama-Storm
14. Parama-Syr
15. Storm-Syr

I don't think scum!implo and scum!kain run up the same obvtown slot this early inthe game as a duo. So imo 6 is not likely

I do usually attract at least one scum vote on each of my mislynches, since I'm a force to be reckoned with, but I usually don't have the entire scum team dumped on me right away. This makes me not want to consider 7 either

I don't think Parama defends his partner and votes the person that makes a vote on him So that eliminates duo #13.

And now I'm left with 12 duos.

oh that list at the top has no relevance it was just a list of names I was using to make the 15 names

also each time we mislynch i'm starting my process of elimination thing from scratch.

I think Parama is more likely to be town on my lynch over implosion. The reasons he voted me don't sound far-fetch'd. He's wrong for sure, but IMO his read does come from a genuine town mindset.

If this is correct and all the aforementioned logic is correct then i'm left with 9 teams.

1. Gamma-implo
2. Gamma-Kain
3. Gamma-Storm
4. Gamma-Syr
5. implo-Storm
6. implo-Syr
7. Kain-Storm
8. Kain-Syr
9. Storm-Syr

Now to consider hypotheticals:

If Comm, Parama, and Tweet are all town like I believe, and Implo+Kain aren't scum together I'm left with 9 teams. Gamma, Storm, and Syr have not been crossed out for any team yet, so each of them has a 4/9 chance of being scum if I'm correct here.

Assuming that all my aforementioned logic is correct, there's a 100% chance that {Gamma,Storm,Syr} yields at least one scum.

I very easily could've made an error here, but it's only day 1 and if I end up mislynching, I'm starting from scratch.

I was lean town on Syr, to begin with. I wish he'd do something more game advancing, but his opening post felt pretty genuine to me.

I've been okay with what Storm has done lately, still not exactly enthused by his Comm vote, but eh.

I don't really fos this slot, but if my logic is correct, then there's a decent chance he's scum. Plus I want to see advancement from him.

VOTE: Gamma Emerald

If you put a gun to my head right now I'd say scum team is implosion-Gamma Emerald. But I feel comfortable lynching within {Gamma, imp, Kain, Storm, Syr} today.
