@Aj, the mod sent me your message.

"Tell TB that while I will probably be unconditionally lynching his ass in the next year's worth of games I play with him, his vote was well played. Also let it be known that unless Soblov is scum, I'm gonna have the last laugh."

Looks like my gambit really did help win us the game.

Town going into day 2 on page 2 without any information at all is a scum's dream.

The only thing I regret is not acting like I won, feining ignorance of the set up, and "outting" my scumbuddies.

Yeah I realized there was a chance, but I didn't know Soblov well enough to call his scum games, and he looked similar to the game I played with him. Soblov actually played fantastically, because my first impression of this game was "well since Soblov is town, Thinkbig fucked the game by letting the most vocal player have total control".

Lol. Thankfully the most vocal player happened to be my scum buddy, who was pocketing you quite well.

That was what really got me. Like Tenshii played the exact style I played in a game we just finished. He did it for the same reason too. So Tenshii REALIZED the point of it. To me, that coupled with Darkshadow's play and the confusing plays people had around controlling who was getting lynched was driving me nuts there.

Really, as disappointed as I am for getting blindsided there, I'm also kinda mad that there was so little effort by people with green roles to drive activity here. Chroncile, momo and Darkshadow ALL had super low activity and that just kills your chance of winning. Which of course is exactly what TB banked on but like... it shouldn't happen that the town was categorically less active than scum.

Hey thanks AJ. My only other scumgame so far was shit so I'm glad I did well here. Town lack of motivation was a huge help though. There were a lot of things that I was worried if I was pressed on I wouldn't come out looking great.

Yea this is why Tenshii had to die.

What do you mean by this? IIRC you stated I was playing differently during the game. So am I playing different or the same? Or?

fun fact: town is now 1-6 in this setup.

i think there needs to be another vt to make this setup salvageable.

Assuming the rules stay the same, I think this would be townsided.

Also I don't think this setup as it stands is THAT scumsided. A ~43% Town EV isn't that bad IMO.

I think the problem is that scum controls so much of the vote that they can direct wagons pretty easily. Like town basically needs 100% consensus to lynch scum.

I don't have any data to support this but my prior is that town beats their EV on days 1 and 2 in most micros but does worse than expected in stuff like 5p lylo. I dunno how to salvage this though while still keeping the game mostly nightless.

i very much doubt making this 9p would make this setup townsided.

the data show directly that, as it stands, this setup is THAT scumsided. the 43% town EV is based on random lynching and i don't think that assumption is valid just because there's SO much incentive for scum not to bus.

EXACTLY

that + even numbers = town is screwed

I did some VERY ROUGH calculations. The EV turns out to be approximately 51/49 Townsided. So assuming I'm relatively accurate in my calculations, I retract my townsided statement.

That's interesting. I'd be willing to play a 9p version of this set up if someone wants to run it.

By the way, thanks to everyone for not replacing out! We had only one replacement this game, which is a record low for games I've played or modded.

I find ThinkBig's quickhammering pretty smart.

If town lynched, scum will have to kill one of themselves. May as well end Day 1 quick.

Yeah, I didn't see that coming at all. Scum dominated this game by taking the mechanics meant to make it balanced and twisting their effect in their favor.

Hey all!

I am going to be running a variation of this setup with an additional vanilla town. I want to see how that balances things out. This game is now in the mod queue.
