“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world,
You are fully responsible for understanding and following these rules.
None of these rules supercede or contradict the Forum Rules and Guidelines, all of which are in full force.
Conduct
Don't use
orange
, it's my color.
Play to win.
Don't discuss the game outside of the game until the moderator says it's over.
Don't flame. Don't harass. Don't use insults that target minority or disadvantaged classes.
Keep interpersonal disputes out of the game thread.
Don't quote or misquote private communications from the moderator.
Don't use encryption, tiny/hidden/unreadable text, or anything that could be easily confused for such.
All replacement requests will be taken as serious, irrevocable, and immediate. Once you request replacement you are no longer a player.
Don't game the rules, pretend to break the rules, or intentionally test the limits. All pretended violations will be dealt with identically to actual violations.
Don't break the rules of any other ongoing game in this thread.
Don't argue moderator decisions in the game thread. (Feel free to argue via PM.)
Voting, abilities, and deadlines
Day
Days begin with a deadline of
10 real-world days (240 hours)
.
Days end when one of the following events occurs:
The deadline is reached.
A lynch is achieved.
A town-aligned player is modkilled.
Votes should be made via the vote tag: "[vote]<playername>[/vote]" or "[v]<playername>[/v]". Full player names or initial segments thereof are preferred.
When more than half of living players are voting for the same player, that player will be lynched and the day will end. Votes are irrevocable once a majority is achieved.
I will interpret malformed votes according to my own discretion. In general, if it looks like a vote, I will probably count it as a vote. I reserve the right to edit malformed votes for easier counting.
When a majority vote has been achieved but not yet recognized by the moderator, the game is in
twilight.
Players, including the lynchee, may continue to post during this period. The same goes for if the deadline passes but the moderator has not announced this. However, votes made after deadline will not be counted.
Under certain extreme circumstances I may elect to extend the deadline, but I will never feel obligated to do so. I will announce this in thread if it occurs.
Night
Nights will last
48 hours
or until all living players PM me their approval to end the night early.
During the night, you should be unable to post in the public game thread. If for some reason you are able, doing so is still against the rules.
Mafia kills should be posted in the Mafia PT. Mafia may choose not to kill, either explicitly or by failing to submit a kill.
Activity requirements
Players who do not reply within
48 hours
of receiving their role PM will be replaced.
Players who do not post for
48 hours
in a single game-day will incur a prod.
Players who do not post for
24 hours
following a prod will be replaced.
Players who incur three prods will be replaced.
If for any reason you are temporarily unable to meet these requirements, you may declare V/LA status and be excused. V/LA declarations must include a definite end date.
“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world,
This is an open game using the Chosen Mafia setup. The roles are as follows:
2
Mafia Goons
2
Chosen Townies
5
Vanilla Townies
Special mechanics:
During pre-game, the Mafia will choose one player to
veto.
That player cannot be a Chosen Townie. Two of the remaining six townies will be randomly assigned Chosen status.
The Mafia will be informed of who the Chosen Townies are, but the Chosen Townies themselves will not, nor will the rest of the town.
As long as both Chosen Townies are alive, neither can be shot or endgamed. An endgame with 1-2 Mafia Goons vs. 2 Chosen Townies is a town win.
Chosen Townies flip as Chosen Townies.
The game uses plurality lynch rules; town cannot no-lynch. See the voting rules above for details.
7 players will receive the following role PM:
You are a
Townie
. You may be either Vanilla or Chosen; who knows? The Mafia, that's who.
Your weapons are your voice and your vote. You have no special abilities.
You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.
Please confirm your participation by replying to this PM with your alignment. You have 48 hours to do so.
2 players will receive the following role PM:
You are a
Mafia Goon
, as is your partner
[redacted]
.
During the pregame and night, you may communicate with your partner in your PT: *url*
During the pregame, you must choose one townie in the game to be ineligible to become a Chosen Townie. At the start of Day 1, you will be told which two players are Chosen.
Each night, you or your partner may shoot a player in the game, and that player will die. You may not shoot a Chosen Townie as long as both Chosen Townies are alive.
You win when the mafia comprise at least 50% of the town and at least one Chosen Townie is dead, or when nothing can prevent that from happening.
Please confirm your participation by replying to this PM with your alignment, or by posting in your PT. You have 48 hours to do so.

Role PMs have been sent out. Day 1 will begin once 8/9 players have confirmed and the Mafia has made their veto choice.

8 players had confirmed, yet the game did not start. Mafia must have taken a while to veto. PMysterious was the one person who failed to confirm, so perhaps they were Mafia and the other member was waiting for them.

The Mafia could have just been taking their time to choose a veto, and waited on all of us to confirm before doing so. By waiting on all 9 people to confirm, they could use the last person to confirm as a shield to protect them for the first day, just by simply not choosing the veto.
I don't get a scum vibe from anyone as of yet, so I'm going to opt to not vote at this time. Of course, that may change as time progresses (this is only the first page after all, and this is practically a given).

VOTE: Bulbazoor, AKA: The Bulbasaur knockoff
This is also L-1. (At least you gave reasons).
Is it possible that Bulbazoor is Mafia and knows that you are Chosen, and thus wants to put you to L-1 for someone to quickhammer? On its own it is pretty unlikely but this makes it slightly more likely. It's worth bearing in mind.
