blurb:

this is friemds mafia. i hope u remember that u signed up for it, because it's starting.

i will be running two games in the micro subforum, one normal game and one open game. there will be one representative from each team in both games; each team will receive a role PM for a slot in both games and get to choose who takes which PM and goes on to play in which game.

the two members of each team will be able to communicate with each other at any time about the events in these two games. i'll provide a QT for each but you guys can use whichever communication platform u want.

there will be specific rules (detailed later) that delineate what is allowed in public posts in game threads.

If you have any doubt about whether something is against the rules or not, message me. it would be cool if you strayed towards asking me too much rather than too little.

Team Communication

1. Each team will be provided a Private Topic (PT). i can make a discord room for u as well. discussion between teams can be on any platform and i don't necessarily need to be able to see it. that said, don't break any site rules etc. there are no other restrictions on communications.
1a. however if u add me into a discord room then u can @ me and i will probably hear "boopip!" or see a message notification at some point and i can answer a question where both of u can see it.
2. you can copy and paste anything into your discussion channel but DO NOT !!! copy any communication from outside a game thread into a game thread.
3. Players may continue to communicate with their team after in-game death.
4. Team PTs will only be made public after the game if all players on the team consent to their release. u guys can decide what you want to release only after both games are done.
5. scum teams will receive PTs. both games will have daytalk, so i can also provide a discord
6. There will be a universal dead/spectator PT. A team will only get the option to join after all of their players have won or are dead. other folks can feel free to ask for access.

Talking About Other Games

1. Players are only allowed to talk about mod-confirmed things from the other ongoing game.

Examples of things that ARE allowed

• Stating who is on what team.
  
• Stating what Day or Night another game is in.
  
• Stating how many players are left alive on a team.
  
• Stating how many town or scum are alive in another game.
  
• Stating whether a dead player in another game has flipped town or scum.

2. Any public speculation about other ongoing games is prohibited.
3. Any attempt to publically signal players from other ongoing games, pass messages to players from other games, or otherwise communicate through the use of cryptography is prohibited.
4. Do not try to loophole these rules. If anyone has questions at any point about what is allowed or not allowed please message me (not Ellibereth).
5. You MAY talk about the preferences and abilities of any player and speculate which game and alignment they would prefer. You may speculate about the relative strengths of teams and how they would distribute role pms. You may NOT tie this speculation or otherwise refer to ANY action a player not in your game has taken in their ongoing game.

A good rule of thumb is any speculation one could have made just by seeing team compositions before the event is allowed.

Examples of things that ARE allowed (im leaving them as elli and zor bc it still makes sense)

• "Ellibereth sucks at scum, he probably chose a town pm"
  
• "Zoraster is by far the best scum player on that team. If they got a scum role pm he probably took it."

Examples of things that are NOT allowed

• "Ellibereth is confirmed scum by team composition", when said by someone not in Ellibereth's game.
  
• "Ellibereth's probably going to flip scum in that other game so Zoraster is probably town here".

11. To repeat: If you have any doubt about whether something is against the rules or not, pm your mod and me, and ask.

Your Teammates are Always Innocent Until Proven Guilty

1. You may at no time say, indicate, insinuate, etc. that your Team Mafia teammates are or might be anything other than town. This includes in any hypothetical situation (e.g., "my teammate would have taken a scum PM if we got it")
2. Exception: You may talk about your teammates being scum if they have flipped scum in another game (i.e. are dead).
3. If a player is NOT on your team and is still alive in another game, you must follow the rules in the Talking About Other Games thread.

replacements n swaps

1. if one of you has to replace, you can ask me to post in the replacement thread or you can find someone yourself. don't tell anyone the alignment, etc. of the player being replaced. someone who has replaced out cannot communicate with the team they were in; ideally they would leave any discord room they were in for example. don't use swaps to speculate on alignment please.
2. everyone will be assigned into their chosen game simultaneously, unlike in dynamic duo. i will allow teams to swap players (only once) in the first 72 hours of each game. each team will also get one opportunity to switch players any time after one team member is dead.
3. if a whole team replaces out, i will open a replacement queue request for both players. dont do that : (

selection process: i am going to make QTs for each team and include a PM for micro 816-I (the normal) and micro 816-II (the open).

the normal has not been through the NRG but i had it reviewed by implosion and callforjudgement and it does not have any breaches of normal standards. it also has my standard blacklist for normal games (no cop, no psychologist, also no ninja or traitor)

oh did somebody say normal standards? do my poll

the open is the c2 iteration of the current newbie setup, which has a town jailkeeper, 6 vanilla townies, and 2 goons.

for the next 24hr i will have this thread unlocked for people to ego (for those of u that dont know: u can click on "view your posts" at the top of the page to get a list of threads you have posted in) since i will post flips/day starts/swaps etc. in here

you can only post the word "ego" with the e either capitalized or not.

when i open the game threads, i will give this same allowance so that people not in games can get them in their egosearch

a distinctively large amount of pure-normal type pokemon with strong HP/defensive stats such as slaking, blissey, snorlax, exploud among others, as well as the fact that normal only has one (relatively uncommon) type weakness in fighting, means normal type pokemon are often found in gyms, as a result of the fact that a pokemon that takes a long time to kill often makes it impossible (due to in-game time constraints) or otherwise undesirable for some people to attempt to capture the gym.

something i want 2 clarify bc i thot it was unclear in dynamic duo, and also im using a different ruling than dynamic duo:

once either game ends, it becomes legal to discuss any event in that game in the still ongoing game. however, in any context outside of micro 816: friemds mafia (i.e., not in game threads, scum PTs, or discussion between team members):

i am still counting the completed game as an ongoing.

that is to say, u can't talk about it in site chat or in other ongoing games or whatever.

it's convenient if u talk abt it in site chat because i can take action against you both as a game moderator and as a site chat moderator!
