I would like to apologize for the poor handling of the situation. I did notice the requests for happily ever after, but failed to get round to it promptly, and eventually after everyone started voting for it the situation got out of hand. I seeked advice from a listmod, who recommended me to publicly refuse the happily ever after votes, but then turned around to say that I should have ignored the whole thing as it is considered influence as a mod. This led to LyLo being played out in a way it wasn't supposed to be.

What was definitely unacceptable, though, was Firebringer asking for a modkill with the action I just mentioned to avoid doing. Whether I made the correct call or not, it was my decision and it had players had to abide by it.

i think that accepting happily ever afters even though they would not be inappropriate in this situation is dangerous in general b/c what if town get to lylo with no scum lynches, know they're going to lose, and force a happily ever after vote and lynch whoever doesn't support it?

Theres been 1 happy ever after in the last 3 years I believe.

Also in any case, I was never accepting a majority vote for a happily ever after. This lets town guarantee a tie in LyLo instead of getting a likely loss.

If I ever implement a vote for happily ever after, it will be unanimous and all players must agree to it.

i understood it here but i also understand why a listmod pov would be that it's a dangerous precedent to establish.

notably i think me and yahmose would probably have both agreed to it but I can't speak for her, obviously.

Btw RC I appreciate what you meant when you told me having at least a decent scumgame is not a good thing

i think happily ever after could be decided on privately through PMs in a situation like this for sure but agree public votes for it open up a whole can of worms in other games
