so, some notes.

1. i think days stretched out to be a bit long. i had considered doing 36 hours over 2 days but it seemed like most of the town was using the time productively, so shrug.

2. the reason i changed my mind on the daytalk from the queue post to the game start (you can see this in the scum pt which i will link): originally i thought that it would be nice where both town & scum would be limited in some way because i do think this mechanic favors scum to an extent. but then that big new setup post about how 2d3 was townsided, so i was like, eh. so whoever brought that up, yes.

3. good game everyone. scum ran a pretty tight ship. props to smart for deepwolfing really well, props to pine for setting him up and communicating with him to support that as well. menalque, you had pine on lockdown, enter you came in and just cracked the game open, unfortunate you didnt really get to work your magic. props to the town at end of d2 for forcing smart onto somewhat difficult choice.

4. ruby red's scum pt gambit was one of the funniest things that happened in a mafia game to me. absolutely brilliant.

5. here are the pts

Release it :]
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

I thought it was Pine/Elsa at the end of the day. But when sS completely backtracked on choosing Oine when presented with that option it caused major red flags to go up. I didn’t really care because I couldn’t stop him. But I think you can see where I had doubt about him when I said solely said “wow”.

I just feel like Elsa trying to go for the big? brain move was a really bad move. SS would have been the logical Nk after a Pine death, but then he would have lived which should have caused major red flags. Especially if SS killed Enter which I think he probably would have done to save the Menal vs Elsa endgame (which ended up happening).

Do you ever play anymore? I would really like to play with you

Also, how do we settle our VC debts? It is going to be very gratifying that pine has to pay 500 dollars more than me to settle ip

Fog of war?
It’s a term borrowed from pre-satellite warfare. Without adequate scouting (and sometimes even with it) you don’t know where the enemy is until you come in contact with him. Sometimes your opponent is just beyond the next ridge and you don’t know it, others you think you’re about to find him when he’s actually miles away, looking for you.

In this context, most Townies are operating in the blind, with only the information at hand. It is easy to armchair quarterback when you have all the information in front of you, and the enemy’s moves seem obvious and simple to avoid. Why didn’t Xerxes go around Leonidas? Why were the Japanese unprepared for a counterattack at Midway? If you have all the information after the fact, it’s easy to forget that the leader in the moment had bad intel

oh
yeah

that reminds me of another thing i wanted to bring up.
i think that in a way this mechanic sort of reduces one aspect of swing by amplifying minority voices [like u know like the senate ??]
like u can imagine a situation where menalque adding sky would have led to pine dying instead of a very probable situation where sky died

and i wanted to preserve the spirit of that by removing the mechanic during lylo bc i think it would sort of push it in the other direction where then scum wields too much control over the game

anyway i felt like the random aspect of the first neighborizer was like a huge thorn in my side for the elegance of the mechanic and i agonized over whether to find some alternate solution and also really groaned when scum was chosen. lol.

I fully admitted to being fooled by SS upon realizing he was scum. In my reads list I even said if he is scum he deserves to win. Elsa sacrificing the town’s only legitimate chance to piece together SS is why I am mad. You don’t try to lynch outside of confirmed scum in LyLo. Shits stupid. There’s really no denying that.

I was going for the fact that Pine would forfeit instead. Plus Menal didn't go against any of my arguments and kept saying it was me and Pine, so frankly just ending the game there and then felt more right.

That’s why I vigorously argued for S_S to kill me D2. He’d have coasted to an easy win unless PP jailed him, which was unlikely
