Game Rules

General Rules/Game Etiquette

1. Obey all Site-wide Rules.
   
2. Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins.
   
3. You may not quote private communication of any kind. This includes moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
   
4. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.

Activity/Prods/Replacements

1. Prods of missing players will be issued after 36 hours of no activity.
   
2. A prodded player has 24 hours to respond to the prod, after which time a replacement search will begin. The prodded player may re-enter the game so long as no replacement has been found.
   
3. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice.
   
4. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 36 hours please PM me or post in the thread to declare V/LA.
   
5. I reserve the right to force replace players who need extensively long V/LA at my own discretion.

Deadlines

1. Deadlines for this game will be 7 days for Day Phases.
   
2. If a duel starts, the deadline will be extended by 5 days.
   
3. If a duel ends, the deadline will be set to max {current time; 2 days}
   
4. If at least one player is being replaced, the timer will run twice slower and will be frozen if becomes <=2 days 12 hours.
   
5. If a player replaces, the deadline will be set to max {current time; 2 days 12 hours}
   
6. Night Phases will last 48 hours and mafia can quick forward. Mafia night kill choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive their choice via PM or PT by the posted deadline they will forfeit your actions.

Player Actions/Voting/Player Death

1. A simple majority of all living players must agree on one person (via voting) for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down). If no one has a simple majority of votes at deadline a No Lynch will occur.
   
2. Votes must be bolded or use the [.vote] tags to be counted (e.g.
   Vote: Player
   or VOTE: Player).
   
3. Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
   
4. You may
   Vote: No Lynch
   - a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.
   
5. Votes made using nicknames or abbreviations will be counted at my discretion. Fake vote gambits should be executed at your own peril. If I think its a vote, then it is a vote.

Mafia memebers are able to communicate in their Private Topic during night, pregame, first 48 hours of day 1 and 24 hours after new mafia replaces in.

Duels

At any time during the day if a duel has not already started or taken place, a player may choose to initiate a duel with another player in the game by declaring

Duel: playername

or HURT: playername (HURT: tags) (the second is better for me). When a duel is started between two players, their voting ability is removed, and the remaining players can only vote between the duelists. When a majority of the non-duelists have voted for a player, that player is killed and the day continues as normal, with all players voting for a lynch.

When a duel is started, all votes are removed.

It's not possible to start a duel while other duel is already running.

When a duel is finished, all votes are removed.

When a duel is on, you can't vote for normal lynch

If a duel is not resolved before the deadline, both duelists survive, the night starts. Next day no one starts in a duel.

Max 2 duels/ day.

When a duel is declared on the moderator, the moderator gains ability to vote and his vote will count as 100 votes.

Welcome to the town of Scoville, population 10. A ghost town on the site of a failed gold mine. Nothing much goes on here...but then, the people tend to like it that way. However, that's about to change.

Early this morning, the whole town was awoken by a noise not often heard in Scoville - a gunshot. People rushed out into the street, looking around nervously for the source of the noise. It shortly became apparent that there were only 9 of them around. The Sheriff was missing. Rushing into his office, they found his office ransacked and him slumped over in his chair, a single gunshot wound in his chest. Who would murder the sheriff? No one had been arrested in Scoville in two years and no one was known to have quarreled with him, so clearly there was something more than a grudge at play here. The townspeople eyed each other suspiciously, realizing that some of them must be bloodthirsty outlaw murderers...
