Backup Mods have the same requirements as regular mods: For the Open Queue, three months onsite and one completed game. More information here.
....what?

in the mini-normal queue, you're required to have an account 3 months old to mod. i'm currently 26 days away from that, but, i do have offsite experience modding. would that offsite experience be able to count towards me being able to mod here? (links in my sig)

Talk to mith. If the experience is similar, he may allow a body of work on another site to count for one modded game.

Wait, question:

Is it possible to backup + mod two mini's or two large's at the same time?

No, ani.

Isn't a possible solution re: queue backlog is to make a prospective mod play a certain amount of games of the type they want to mod?

Forcing people to play isn't really a good way to get good play, though.

Well you have to play what 5 games on site and have at least three months experience to mod at all at the moment? Just set a rule that at least three should be from a Mini/Open.

A few quick notes on off-site experience, since I have been getting more requests for exemptions lately:

  • At most, off-site experience will count toward 1 game of mod experience here. This will allow you to run all types of game except for Large Themes.
  • This exemption requires a
    body of work
of forum games - a single game is not sufficient, nor are a couple of small games, and we do not count chat games.
  • The more information you can provide about your games, the more likely I am to approve your request - I don't really have the time to wade through an unfamiliar forum structure trying to find information on your games. Direct links to the setup and quotes from the players commending your modding are helpful.
  • We do not consider off-site mod experience which has been earned after you joined this site; that is not a loophole we wish to open.
  • The three months + one game played on mafiascum requirement is mandatory.
We do not make exceptions for that - everyone else has to go through the same waiting period.

@mith: No offense, but it takes a lot of time for someone's game to reach the top of the queue. Way over a month.

Considering that, wouldn't it make more sense to keep the 3 month requirement for actual modding only, but let people join the queues after just 2 months on-site?

Easier to keep the rules consistent. Sometimes the queues run faster than others.

Besides, otherwise people would argue they could join after 1 week.

It's exactly the same thing, it's just a matter of scale.

Just wondering, is it fine to host a game in the Marathon subforum without having to run and open or mini normal?

Yes it is.

I agree, it is all a matter of scale.
