We need to update our documentation/FAQ for various non-standard features, but in the meantime we'll use this thread.

Kison has recently stepped in as lead code admin, and has been implementing some things that the group has been working on over the past few months (as well as showing off and taking on new features).

Recently added features include the ability to search PMs (just activated for all users in the past few minutes) and countdown tags (produces a clock which updates on refresh, very useful for deadlines and for those confused by time zone differences). We've also had a few fixes for bugs/minor annoyances (see threads marked "FIXED" in this forum).

If you have any problems with a new feature, you can report it here or PM me or Kison. If you have suggestions for new features, please start a new thread in Site Ideas.

Am I supposed to be seeing the control panel bar at the bottom of the page?
Seriously. Read your role PM before playing.
I am sorry if you have to prod me, I have absolutely no concept of time.

My prefered pronoun set is "cie/cir/cirs[elf]" but they is more than acceptable.

Yes, it's copied there so you don't have to scroll to the top of the page.

We may or may not convert those into stored/new dice tags someday (the conversion isn't written yet). At this point they're ancient history, as is anything using phpBB2 dice tags in Mish-Mash.

How does the countdown work with respect to time zones? Is the time input assumed to be taken from a particular time zone? Does it depend on the poster's or the reader's settings?

If that's true, then different readers will believe there are different amounts of time left before the countdown is completed, and these can vary by up to 24 hours.

What?

How does a countdown affect time zones?
It's like a bomb countdown only with more hours.

No it is using Eastern Time right now. It doesn't matter what the user's time zone is set to. It will always be the same.

The server is using east coast time while the board is set to use central time. For that reason we might need to reconfigure the countdown tags to adhere to the board time, which would speed them up by one hour. Doing this will let them stay consistent even if the server moves to some random time zone.

Dice.

Ugh.
Routine day with a dirt cheap brush
Then a week goes by and it goes untouched
Then two, then three, then a month
Then the rest of your life, you beat yourself up
