Ok, we're back.

I'll post a full explanation of what happened later (my brain is a bit fried now), but the main thing you'll notice is that we've lost anything from April 12 - 16. It could've been worse, but fortunately jeep has stayed on top of the backups.

Sorry about all the troubles, we will definitely be looking for a new host after this mess. Only, next time we move,

do it, and actually check that everything got moved before we delete everything off here...

The lost data includes some registrations of some new players. If you registered between 12-16 April, you may have to Register again.

well im glad we're back
a bit confused though-as in 1 game, i have 0 posts (i replaced in recently).
Its gonna be confusing for a bit in most games i expect, but we should be able to get back on track with such a minimal loss.

Nice job guys. Yeah it's a pain that we lost the data, but as you said it could have been worse.

Just a note, the Wiki is giving errors when you try to register or save any information:

The wiki is a known issue. The database was restored from the pre-updated wiki. So I need to revert it to the previous version and re-upgrade.

Sorry about not staying on top of the wiki backups.

My April 18th backup was corrupt, so I had to use the April 12 backup. Thanks to mith for restoring it. I spent too much time working on the April 18th one.

I'm not sure how much of the wiki was backed up, but it appears that google saved a cached copy of most of the wiki pages, which is more recent than the current wiki.

ie. If I type into google, "Big Al Mafia Scum" and click the 'cached' link on the first entry, I get this page, which is more updated than the current Big Al page.

It could potentially be used to restore some of the pages that were lost? Probably easiest for individual people who want this to update their own pages themselves. I don't know if the 'edit' page was cached too, or if you can only get the text.

I'm not sure how long it will be though until google 'rechaches' its pages though, to the current (older) wiki pages.

Unfortunately, you don't. I'm working on a process to automatially get a backup each day. We'll see if I get it to work.

Search has been reenabled. We'll have to rebuild the search table at some point, but I want to wait and monitor the logs for a bit before we do that.

I was looking at some wiki and i notices that some of the pages are back. most importantly the Kentucky Krew and Missouri Mob pages. Is there a reason just those were brought back. And will there be more surprises like this coming soon?

I recreated them, there's no mystery recovery effort going on... I was able to pull most of your old text from the Google cache.
