Scan for viruses! Someone on mafiascum is infected

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Feb 01, 2004 12:22 pm

Post by jeep »

It appears that someone on mafiascum is infected with one of:
Mimail.s, Mydoom, or Mydoom.b virus.

Several scummers are getting infected e-mails. The virus sends itself out as if it is the people in your address book. Someone with me, Dragon Phoenix, Dragon Slayer, Corsato, Gaspode, and others in their address book needs to check their system.

I'm guessing more than one person got it... is it really a localised mafiascum problem? ~boggle~

No, but it's certain that someone here has it as several scummers are being spoofed.

This person also has Fletcher (nathanael at mchsi dot com) in their book -- that should narrow the search some.

I'd like to clarify that I didn't get one that I know of, I apparently sent one to an adress I have never seen before in my life. No indiction it was someone from here either.
Ever wonder why that edit button is obnoxiously placed in the center like that? Yeah, that's cause of me.. and trust me, it's better off there.

I got a message saying that my mail to Macros could not be delivered because it possibly had a virus attached. I never sent a mail to Macros, and on that account he is not even in my address book.

I just got an email back saying I sent one with the mydoom.a virus. :( Add that to the list of things to look for.

BTW, does anyone know if this virus does anything else to our PC's.

It also prevents you from updating your antivirus software - a very big deal.
