Scum want to avoid getting caught. In order to do so, they avoid acting in predictable ways.

You have over 5000 posts. You can't honestly say you've never seen scum be off a wagon for towncred.

Furthermore, many players play scum by emulating what they would do as town. Therefore, if any of those players would townread Gamma or scumread Persivul as town, they might do it as scum.

Yeah. I basically softed deflector to Plotinus really hard, and told Flavor I was doing it, in an attempt to bait scum-Plotinus into killing me. Since he was already my biggest scumread and now I died, I'm really hoping he is in fact scum and it wasn't just a coincidence. And I bet Flavor pushing it will get a lot more people to listen to him than I would have.

I feel like Flavor is probably town because in killing me he'd be killing a known VT (since I claimed VT to him almost as soon as we got the room) and someone who clearly trusted him... but all that stuff was in our room and thus he wouldn't even get towncred for it.

sorry I lynched you, Clemency. I've seen towns do that a bunch of times in games I mod where everyone just collectively goes along with lynching the lowest content slot until town loses and always shook my head at it and then I did it myself!
