It's possible that scum thought that Penguin had an investigation result on me given his insistence that I'm town. Unfortunately for scum, the truth is that Penguin and I are simply very good at reading each other.

Apart from that, I'm not sure he was all that widely townread outside of myself (speaking from memory here — correct me if I'm wrong) and I don't believe he had any unique scumread—with the possible exception of suspicion on TTTT—that scum could silence, so that seems the most likely to me.

Slaxx is generally a "town leader" type. Not sure if his D1 was indicative of that enough for it to be worth a kill on this game alone, so might point to someone with experience or knowledge of him.

Another thought on this – Penguin may have been killed in order to make YellowSnow an easier mislynch. Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall anyone else saying explicitly that they think the YS lynch was a bad idea like he did.

It's possible Vedith is some kind of PR with a guilty on Clem.

I don't think that's actually the case, but I can see a believable narrative for it.
