How're you feeling about this game? I see you're a newbie like me, got any experience in mafia type games (online or otherwise)? I've played a little forum mafia but that was about 10 years ago IIRC, and finished less than 10 games I think. Aside from one short-lived stint as a mason I don't think I ever was anything else than vanilla townie back then (and I vividly recall my first game where the town eliminated our cop on day 1 and the rest went very badly very soon). So ngl, I'm kinda feeling the pressure now, especially with 2 townie power roles and because the more experienced players in the game are all townies haha! So I'm totally not expecting to live for a long time. But obviously I'm still gonna do my best to win.

I'm gonna go skim some other newbie games just to see what the general playstyle seems to be on this forum, now that there's still some time before the game begins. I thought I saw one where there was a Mafia Rolecop who got eliminated on day 2. So I'm curious to see what led to that so that we can hopefully avoid it.

Feel free to brainstorm or ask stuff if needed. I probably won't be as helpful a partner as someone who's played more but I've picked up some stuff from my previous forum mafia games (did a lot of reading of old games back then too).

Hey, glad to get a pal. Welcome to the game! Any thoughts so far?
For the record, I do lean towards Sly being vanilla, a power role using such a risky way of communication right away is pretty unlikely. Which is why I personally would prefer someone else to be eliminated at day 1. Also seems like they could possibly be an 'easy' candidate to eliminate later on.

The first day being pretty much a crapshoot, I'm curious to see how people's interactions possibly change at day 2. Might make it easier to figure out what the power roles we're dealing with are. Any early thoughts on who you would be curious to get a read on during the night when it comes?

I agree with Sly being vt, but it's not like there's any way a PR gets elimmed d1. I think you're right about him being an easy elim for later on, so he might be valuable to keep alive for now.

No, but forcing a power role to claim their role to avoid elimination would make deciding the night target easy!

Yeah, I indeed meant if you had any ideas who you'd like to use your rolecop ability on. But maybe it's easier to figure out who we should try to push for elimination on day 2 and do a role read for them. That way if they come up vanilla they at least don't have a strong claim if they get to e-1. And if they come up a power role they're the next night kill then...

I don't think BBMolla is a PR because of how aggressive they are. Usually PR's want to lay low, so I think he's more likely VT. (This is assuming optimal PR play so it might not be true)

On a different note I think a good kill to consider tonight, if he doesn't get eliminated today, is spoon. He may be an easy hang but in the long run his aggression can be the death of us, we also don't have to worry too much about him getting protected.
