While my opening Mark was 2nd Most Influence (I didn't win it). The votes favored me really well; I put my other three Marks on cards that were relevant exactly when I got them and no later (Most Divinity and Most Planar Studies in round 3, Most Mana in round 4), and I correctly called Green going for Most Wisdom (beating them to it) and accidentally picked up Most Int along the way.
I've never played this game but reading this post-game report has me intrigued

I don't think there's an official Tabletop Simulator mod, and the TTS table is borderline too small for this game, but it's not out of the question...

Spirit Island is an incredible game. Dont know what you mean by medium complexity. It's fairly complex, but it is excellent.

Forbidden desert is pleasant. Haven't played the other forbidden series games. Played forbidden desert twice, once ~5 years ago, and once last sunday.

I'd also recommend pandemic legacy with caveats that (1) it gets moderately complex by the end, though the complexity is introduced very slowly game by game and (2) only recommend if you have a group you can play the whole campaign with.

Island is better than desert imo, though it can have a problem with one person telling everyone what to do (I am certainly guilty of that).
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

read that's going to be a completely new take on it
which might not be a bad thing since the first version just looks like bag management
still dont know what to feel about the 3-D Tree

ghost stories is a fantastic co-op. last bastion a fantasy re-theme (and maybe reworking? dunno) just came out.

other reccomended co-ops are robinson crusoe (which isn't medium, I think? just due to the kind of badly written rulebook to some degree tbh) or any of the pandemic series of games, legacy if you like campaign shit.

Argent: The Consortium -- Sophica (6) vs. Monad (4) vs. Byron (2, me)

Well, this was the result of their agreement to come at me as one would expect from bros. Although that's being too uncomplimentary; looking back on what happened, I was shut down so hard that I couldn't comprehend the wreckage until after the game since I didn't get any Marks. Had one player not screwed up round 5 and had I Wounded the wrong mage in round 5, it would have been 7-5-0. Incredibly brutal, and I feel like I got outplayed so hard that I need to obsess over it for a while until I get better.

just saying that 3/5 people typically playing aren't min-max gamers who like to think 3 steps ahead at a given turn. too much complexity leads to me correcting them when they make a rules error and i already get shit for sounding like i'm lecturing sometimes hah. i plan to eventually pick it up.

for example, mechvs v minons seems like its a bit light on the number of rules and requirements but is still pretty fun. i took a look at spirit island on youtube and can already tell just by looking at the layout it might make heads spin

last bastion look cool and i might pick up something in the forbidden series, thanks yall

Seriously look at space alert. If you liked the movement programing of mvm, you might dig the real time gimmick + programming of space alert.

eh, the actual turn order stuff you have to do in the game isn't super complicated at all. I think just learning the rules from the rulebook was(is?) a bit tricky since it was badly laid out. there are like scenario specific rules you have to remember and a few minor rules that aren't super intuitive, but it's not like spirit island complexity or anywhere close.

Anyone know how Clank In Space advances the game relative to the base Clank?

Time to decide on Xmas gifts for the niece (7) and nephew (12) again.
I'm leaning towards Kingdomino and Quacks of Quedlinburg respectively. But not all that sure

to clarify, your Mage Wars is basic Mage Wars and not Mage Wars: Arena?

also, interested in Quarriors. What shape are the components/cards in?
