Super belated question: is there an official List of Mafiascum Minecraft Servers anywhere? There's one IP address in the topic post, and in the last couple pages I saw a post from Maruchan stating he had a 1.2.4 server (which I wouldn't mind joining as "Packbat", if that's okay) but it would be convenient if there were some central repository that people could just skip to.

The MafiaScum server is the one in the OP, and this thread is just about that. Maruchan has his own server, which isn't just for MS people, but he lets us on. I also have a server now, but it's for individual events, not a general world.

Everyone please tell me which plots AND shop plots are yours.

I accidentally fucked up the plots, due to a faulty command (i told the dev and he is fixing it), and there are too many plots for me to know whose is whose.

So tell me which column and row and color you are, as well as which shop plot you are.

I think you fixed my house plot already - my shop plot was at the corner nearest where the tree farm was.

Purely from a programming perspective modloader is barfing on the version of wedge you are using. Based on the stack trace wedge is providing a version number to modloader that is not formatted correctly or is an old version. Did you make sure that you have the right version of wedge for 1.2.5?

Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about modding minecraft except how to install them but I am a pretty decent programmer with some experience with java.

Maru, did some preliminary looking into bukkit and it seems mostly straightforward. Anything in particular you'd like me to try and write?

Packbat, not sure what the error would be in that case but have you tried updating your java? Other than that id have to do some research from a pc and see what I can come up with. Sorry.

Can't - I have MacOS 10.5.8, they stopped updating Java for it. I was unable to run Beta 1.8 for that reason.

the whole Double Password thing, no matter HOW I word it (I am on the third attempt at wording the command), has confused every player to attempt to log in to my server so far except for me (because I read the directions on the page i got the plugin from )

You are not alone.

I figured it out pretty quick. The server prompts you to type your password.

I would draw a distinction between offsite activity and onsite activity - I'll readily admit that this shows something about chesskid3's character, though. If I caught him trolling the forum or Wiki and knew about this, I'd count it as an additional strike against him that he has trolled members of the community outside the boards.

I just had a

brilliant idea

regarding the new street system: house numbers!

Now, there are two kinds of house number systems: the order-houses-were-built system and the geographical-location system. The order system is generally the older, because it offers essentially zero help as to

finding

any given house, so what I propose is a geographical-location system based on one simple fact:

we have absolute coordinates

Thus, I suggest house numbers run by two rules. First, on a street that travels in the positive or negative x direction, you use the x coordinate, and on a street that travels in the positive or negative z direction, you use the z coordinate. Second, on an x street, houses that are in the positive-z direction from the street have odd numbers, and negative-z even numbers (vice-versa for z streets).

So, take my house. It lies off of what is now called Scum Street. To get the address:

1. I hit f3 and walk up and down the street, and this tells me that, as you pass my house, the street goes in the +/- z direction. Thus, I will need to use the z coordinate.

2. I get that coordinate at both ends of my house's frontage along Scum Street. In this case, the corners of the house are at z=307 and z=320.

3. I check the side of the street. It lies on the negative-x side, so it has an even number.

4. I pick an even number in the range of my house. I chose 310.

Ta-da! 310 Scum Street!

I think the problem with that is that most of the streets don't have many houses at all. I believe myself and esurio are the only ones on my street. (I think scroo's path has it's own name)

It's not fireproof - the ballroom floor is just birch planks, and the top floor is all pine. Walls are woodslab with stone reinforcement, but fire can do a fair amount of damage.
