This Sunday will be our first game night. Join the MS Steam group if you haven't already so we can find each other easily. Would also help if you switched your Steam name to your MS name.

So it seems like Civ and TF2 are the top contenders, with L4D close behind. I'm thinking it might pay to have both games, as most of us seem to be experienced in one or the other. I'm fairly good at TF2, but have barely touched Civ.
Looks like we've settled on Sunday night as well. What I'm thinking is: let's run sign-ups for both games and get a headcount. If there're enough people to fill both, we can run them at the same time and you pick your favourite. If we're short on people, or enough want to do both, we'll do them at separate times. 'K?

you have to have at least a general knowledge of the map to play engie decently

We could do this. Whoever isn't playing goes on TF2.

Or, y'know, another game of their choosing.
BUT THAT'S CHAOS

the way I see it, that comes down to whether the main point of this is hanging out with friends or playing fun games.

That's not such a good idea, for example I currently have both TF2 and Civ uninstalled. Plus I would like some time to play Civ beforehand so I'm not a total deadweight.

Apparently my server is no longer supported. I'm setting up SteamCMD now. It won't be as simple as hitting the on switch, but I think I'll have it ready by 7 tonight if we're still doing this.

alright it looks like the problem isn't with the server, it's with either with my router or network settings, which means I'm probably going to need a hell of a lot more time to figure it out.
I fiddled with my firewall a bit, and changed a couple minor things - it's a shot in the dark, but if it still doesn't work I'm out of ideas
