Through my entire adolescence it was always one of:

Final Fantasy Tactics
Suikoden II
Xenogears

These days Persona 4 gets added to the mix. I'd probably choose Suikoden II if I were forced to pick one. It's a shame that the series has been inactive for so long, unless you count the spin-offs.
