well... you can't buy runes with money, and you don't need access to all champions to win... it's not even more likely you'll win with more champions. My alt account has historically been a higher rank than my main one and it has 20 champions (most of which are the 450 IP variety) and 3 rune pages. There's no need to spend money for that.

The vast majority of the money they make is from skins anyway, which are cosmetic.

this game is so snowbally though its just way easier to consistantly do well in the beginning rather than come back when you're behind

control drag/baron, control pressure, control waves, - jungler responsibility in that order

depends on team comp and power spikes

for example,y

if you have vi, ashe, braum, syndra, trundle

obviously your team excels at both team fights and picks, so you group and try to force an objective such as a t2 turret, to release pressure for an enemy dragon or baron take

if you have tryndamere, ziggs, lee sin, lucian, leona. you play the lane control farm game and protect lucian and wait for him to get 2 or 3 full items because trynd and ziggs scale very well into late game also. if the enemy team is not grouping, wave clear and then farm jungle. repeat.

idk, these things are real intuitive to me because i played dota for so long and micromanaging power spikes and relevance is pretty much 80% of the game

but for real until you get to roughly plat elo all you gotta do is have more farm than your opponent and its almost always safer to farm

riot probably takes a few stats based on role, does fuzzy math, and then compares that rank against the percent of people that do better/worse based on the number

simply put, based on riots rank you didn't do better than 0.1% (or whatevr the cutoff for S+ is) of people that played your champ in that game

its all stupid hand waving to make people feel better about themeslves anyways. completely arbitrary just like the rank divisons

at least with blizz ranking you know exactly what you've accomplished. e.g. if you are in gold you are roughly 60% percentile

I don't understand your issue. It's gathered through an official riot API. Why would riot need to make an additional statement that the data is correct? If you want to stick your fingers in your ears and say "la la la" in order to keep making your point about how it's "completely arbitrary" I guess you can, but you're wrong.

I don't think the league system is the perfect way to categorize skill by any means (it's balanced against some other concerns), but it's not arbitrary.

This, also it doesn't need to be updated(and maybe my knowledge of computers and programming and etc.. taint me here) it is dynamically updated as the database is updated as you play each game you play.

there are league endpoints which break down the number of divisions and players per divison, which is easy math to retrieve, but why doesn't Riot offer any explanation to the layperson, and instead requires 3rd party tools?

the fact that the information comes not from the product managers themselves but from 3rd party tools via apis is the problem. they have problems about being too terse with game information and doing a bunch of hand waving

I don't understand why there isn't transparency. I've never ever ever liked that Riot has taken information from the player, and over the course of like 5 years, they've made basically everything a company secret, even stats.
