in fact, it seems that he scales up even harder than he used to!

SO I TRIED OUT ZIGGS
he is simply better, no questions asked
he scales a lot more strongly with level and AP
and he pushes down lanes at an even faster pace than before
it's not just because of his buffed w - his passive also deals a lot more damage and the tower changes in general make mage attacks way more substantial
i simply don't see how these 6.9 changes can

work

it feels like they buffed all the mages without
athene's holy grail used to be the most common first item for ziggs, but with the ap nerf that'll probably change to morellos
it's too bad that boots can't be enchanted anymore

so i worked out a way to make lissandra work in the jungle and practiced and tried a lot of different things in customs to find a way to sustain her early

so far i've settled on cdr glyphs, armor seals, ad marks, and two ap and one armor quint
masteries are 0/12/18, with secret stash rather than runic affinity

and then i start hunter's talisman with 3 biscuits

with a leash on the first camp, this enables her to always have at least 50% health through krugs->raptors->wolves (with amumu i tend get 3/4 camps and level 3 my first run without blue?). If she can get blue after her recall, then it's smooth sailing from there.

Ganks are of course as ideal imaginable, and the main draw of liss jungle. Her e makes surprise appearances easier than almost any jungler I can think of, and her w/q cc (and damage) the enemy enough to enable whoever else is in the lane to go ham. Later, she has her point-and-click freeze and is even more deadly. Having runic echoes just makes her engage faster and burst stronger. Stalker's blade makes her cc more complete, but I wonder if I really need that extra cc given my kit; tracker's knife's wards might have a bigger payoff in my case.

In my first norm with lissandra, things looked bad early; their pantheon jg had managed to grab 1 kill from top and 2 from bot by the time I started getting involved. But their ryze top kept pushing lane without preparing any escape and I was able to kill him twice even though he used his flash the first time. Later (once I had my ult) I was able to do similar work in botlane and secure both the enemy adc/support.

Objective taking went fine, but I wonder if it's because of the lead we were able to build early. Enemies tried to stop us, but we had enough cc on our team that it didn't work out for them.

There are a few ways I think I might be able to optimize further - perhaps by leashing blue first or at least starting blue side. I haven't tried out enough jungle paths. And I still don't know how well lissandra can manage invades. I'm confident that she'll be able to avoid dying thanks to her cc and e (probably after some cooldown since i'm using it to farm), but I wonder how bad a time she'd have if she lost blue. And other things can go wrong like they didn't in my first test game. So...more games!

we killed their kogmaw over and over again in lane; he was 2/12/3 by the end of the game
zed managed to kill me during a gank; screw that guy

their yi invaded my top repeatedly but he never got my blue and i was getting plenty of kills so it was nbd
if this keeps up i think i might do this liss jg thing on the regular

had trouble securing objectives, though
they generally lost a lot taking the objectives instead of us though

you're right that there are lots of possible explanations but i'd bet that the mage update is a more plausible explanation for the bump than miraculous broad-based improvement in karthus play

his winrate does fall a lot when including stats below plat though
