I hold no opinion on vanilla server coming back or not. Does t matter to me.

Im posting because i feel compelled to say it shouldnt take much time from m and i, and we're already paying for the server space anyway.

Although, from what i see so far, it seems to be a negative response to vanilla so..

the reason nilla is so boring is that we don't have a sense of community do we?

I propose we do what the mind crackers are doing. that is start out with a smallish world border and have it increase about 6 or 7 or 8 blocks a day. it compels teamwork and community. and more peeps would want to comeback to help in projects.

any thoughts?

also the bucket thing where no one can mine blocks near spawn was shit.

Moreover, i think there wasnt any trust with anyone. lets do this right. minimal plugins and no spawn protection.

For the record, CraftBukkit (the only server software I could think of that would be able to do the "increasing world border" thing) is only 1.7.9 compatible in theory. They're on Beta builds, which I'm not all too excited about using on a community server. Modded is different, rampant bugs should be expected - that expectation doesn't exist in Vanilla and shouldn't have to.

So we're either looking at a "wait for 1.8" (which I'd prefer anyway) or "downgrade and hope shit works later" approach.

World borders are from the 1.8 snapshots and you can change their behavior in vanilla, including gradual expansion.
