I liked AAI. Or, at least, I liked mah extraterritorial rights.

And come on, the game isn't that bad. I mean, comparing 5-3 to the fucking clown? Really? (Actually Moe was the best part of that case so scratch that)

The game isn't that bad! But it doesn't even approach the awesome that was the third game, and like I said above there are some distracting logical inaccuracies and silly writing.

GOG.com is having a charity sale. Donate $5+, get three or more games from a select list. Mostly adventure or exploration games, but some cute stuff in there for cheap.

I picked up Botanicula, Darwinia, and FTL that had been on my list for a while. I also grabbed Creatures Village and Waking Mars based on reviews. That works out to about $1.67 each.

So I started playing World of Tanks this weekend

It's
really
grindy to make your tanks not suck unless you just stick to playing with tier one tanks (or put money into the game but screw that) but it is ridiculously addicting and I'm not completely sure why.

i guess it's mostly because killing a tank from forever away or having the perfect cover position where you can shred a tank or two while they can barely even see your turret sticking out is pretty satisfying and the matches are short and you can join a new one as soon as you die but it seriously ate all of my sunday and monday and i'm even thinking about making a new account so i can use a starter code I found for it to get enough gold to buy a premium tank you normally can't get without paying real money

I don't suppose any of you is interested in a video card? Get my new card tomorrow, so assuming installation goes smoothly, I'll have a
GTX 560
(not Ti) available (see its spot on a Tier list). It's still solid card capable of running all games to some degree and most games at high settings. I've had to run BF4 at lower settings on it to maintain a competitive Frame Rate (thus the need for an upgrade), but it's an upgrade over a lot of things. Just make sure your box has adequate power.

It has two DVI slots and a mini-HDMI out. Assuming I don't need it for the new monitor, I'll throw in the mini-HDMI cable or a DVI cable, depending on your preference.

Anyway, pay for shipping and it's yours (assuming no installation problems with the new one)

Heh, WoT is really not grindy until you get to Tier 6. Also, the game shifts as you go up higher and higher in tiers, you might find playing in the lower tiers or the mid tiers to be more enjoyable. I play almost exclusively tier 5 stuff.

It's funny but that's the exact same card I just upgraded from, so I have a 560 sitting around as well.

what'd you upgrade to, Zach? I just upgraded a little to a Radeon 7870. Hopefully it's enough. I only spent 170 bucks. I thought about getting a 770 or a 7970, but just couldn't justify the expense.

I went with the gtx 760. I wanted a 770, but I couldn't justify spending the extra money for what was a marginal upgrade once I saw where cards in the 760 range were priced.

yeah that's pretty much identical to my thought process. I was deciding between the 760 and the 7870

Yeah, it does. But I'm sure it will be popular as it will be easier to get into than the more complex MOBA's.

What's going to happen is Blizzard is going to basically pull what Riot did and put tons and tons of money into making it competitive, the difference being League actually could be competitive while Heroes can't.

According to someone who was interviewed it's basically whichever team gets level 10 (the level where you get your ultimate) first wins because Ultimates are so powerful.

Bleh. Still gonna play a bit of it cause it'll be free, but bleh.

7870 being cheaper winning out? It looks like it's a pretty good upgrade from the 560 and definitely great from a price performance perspective.
