I have built an instance that matches the google sheet as of now... haven't launched it yet or compared to my personal 1.12 to see if anything important is missing. ;)

Things I noticed while searching for mods:
Is redstone arsenal an intended omission or an oversight?
Immersive petroleum y/n?
Ranged pumps is definitely superior to other pumps...

Edit: it launched, yay! I'm using all defaults rn, to get the config directory populated.
I'm not trying to do double work, might be best if you popped on irc?

Extra cells is asking to use in-game wiki mod. Y/n?

I would vote all 3 of those should go in. I really want to experiment more with IPetrol...

Nah.

Gonna need to take out Thaumcraft for the time being though. It's definitely not ready.

heh, alt slips in the minecraft thread :)

I only mentioned redstone arsenal because it popped up when I searched cofh. Dunno if there is overlap etc.

@Maestro, removing thaum dropped my SSP instance's memory, I'm guessing by a gig of working set. Might be an exaggeration because I did not check the "before" number, but this is compared to another instance which does have it. I can run experiments...

Recommended todo's

Cut back dramatically on granite/andesite/diorite/marble not astral sorcery/limestone/whatever other non-stone there is. Too much of that stuff just clutters things up. Though I'm willing to be voted down on this. Don't nerf underground gravel and clay as much though, that stuff is needed in small quantities.
Some of the ores don't show up in the /oredistribution report. But it's helpful to find the dups. Probably have to do the quarry all the stone/other mundane stuff and see what's left method.
Butterflies were an issue a few servers back. During testing, we should do something that causes lots of them to find out if it's still an issue.
Another prior server issue was lag that we never were sure if it was archimedes or something else. Test the flying ships things (davinci?) to see if it's an issue.

Op people during testing and deop later? Or try a week of mostly survival to see what happens? I'm ok either way, can do some of the op-worthy stuff myself...

Let me know if you want me to go strictly as-is with what is uploaded, or comb through configs (if I have time). Don't want to duplicate work / step on toes but OTOH we may notice different things...

When Akliz restarted things most recently they auto started horizons which is the N-1 pack. I'll turn that one off, make the custom pack another server, and use the 4gb that's in use by horizons currently. Leaving revelation up for the people who are still playing it (myself included though I've been doing this the past couple days...)

On non-AS marble, the chisel from Chisel can turn its version of marble into AS marble and vice versa, as well as switch between the AS marble types. Also, while I definitely agree with the sentiment that those stones clutter inventories, it gets annoying when you finally do want to build with them and can't find a cluster.

This. Chisel stones should be reduced, probably, but not eliminated. Variety is not inherently bad, and the Vanilla -ite Stone variants all share the same oredict entry with the regular Stone block, so it's not like they get in the way of spawning ores. I, for one, don't want my mining underground to feel like "Vanilla + a bunch of random ores". It should feel like modded; there's new stuff up top, why not below? If you all get to have Pam's without any questions raised about all the seeds and gourds and shit I get in my inventory when trying to cut grass, leave the underground alone for those of us who like some variety in our builds, thank-you-very-much. :P

Also, are you adding Rustic? I would very much like to see that in the pack, but it's relevant because it adds something called "Slate" that's basically another naturally-spawning black-colored block a la Chisel Basalt, etc. - that can also get lowered/disabled for all I care.

There is a learning curve for sure but not as bad as it looks to be. Just pretend it is vanilla and initially play vanilla and then pick a mod (Tinker's is a good one) and start building from there.
My Uncle always use'ta say, 'You can't get no blood from a turnip.' .... He'd say the same thing about gettin' it from a stone, too.

I never said nothin' back to him. You don't want mess with no freak that's searchin' around that hard for blood.

I added it to the suggestions tab. It's not in the list currently but I'm sure there will be changes over the next couple weeks. I need to look at some of them a bit further, and also want input from others. There are mods that I left out because they're things I would leave out of an SSP pack, but that doesn't mean others don't enjoy them. Like waystones, RLD, etc.
