Before we get too far with building the wall, may I suggest using stone brick instead of cobble for the outer layers?
There is a lava pool nearby which would allow stone to be smelted very efficiently.
I'd be happy to donate some buckets to that operation, and perhaps hoppers to automate it.

If you provide stone brick I'll do it. We've always used cobble because it is a very resource intensive project, and stone brick is very resource taxing. As well as wanting it up sooner than later for the mob protection aspect

This letter is to inform you that Crimson Dragon Enterprises has become aware of discrepancies with in the contract signed and the actual work that needs to be done on the wall. Firstly we were not made aware that the base of the wall was , firstly not finished and furthermore would require mining of the andesite, graniteand diorite that has been left to mark its placement. Because of this, we will be charging an additional eight iron per hour for the completion of this project for the first layer. After this first layer we will no longer charge the additional premium.

In addition, we were not made aware of the need to use stone brick outside of the wall. While this is a new development, we would like to inform you that due to the cost of providing these labor and expense intensive materials, we will charge you an extra 4 iron per hour unless you wish to provide materials yourself, in which case we will charge you the bass 16 iron per hour rate plus the premium.

We appreciate your business, but please keep in mind that in the future if these issues do occur again we may be forced to cease operations with you. Thank you,

If your needs are inclined more to different types of stone and coal, the upper levels are also open for your mining pleasure free of charge.

While this excursion has numerous advantages, there are still risks to consider. There are pools of magma, and the earth itself is inhabited by tiny but vicious monsters. Miners assume all risk of injury and are expected to come appropriately attired and equipped. We also ask that all new tunnels are appropriately lit for the safety of future spelunkers and prospectors.

I don’t subscribe to that
I’m very much a community guy

So
To promote the community
I’m going to build a massive storage building in town and am just going to build for building’s sake
You can pay me what you want once I finish and you see the work
I have a few projects to get to first, but it will happen

Current projects, to be done in no particular order
-Finish Basement
-Clean up tunnel leading out of town
-Clean up birch road going through said tunnel (adding rails and supports for the elevated sections, etc.)
-Finish Wall
-Build Storage Center
-Clean up community mineshaft building? (No one will complain if I do that?

However, because of the size of my projects, I’m gonna need a lot of resources, way more than I can feasibly collect on my own. How many, you ask?
Let me put it into perspective. The storage center alone is going to contain 1620 double chests.
So
Donations will be appreciated. Just toss them in the town hall cobble building thing.

I'm fine with more attractive, but I don't want it to look "polished". I want it to have a rugged appearance, especially as it's back wall is a hole into the ground.

EDIT: Also, I was just doing mine as a joke to continue the trend, but community-centric works is basically what I am doing too.

I view the "economy" as being just a fun way to interact. The community aspect is equally interesting to me, perhaps more so.
That's why the stone making furnace is in the area that I'm assuming was meant to be common.

Also, we need slimeballs for sticky pistons for the gates through the wall.

each gate needs 4 sitckypistons.

so far we have at least 5 areas needing gates (path towards spawn, tunnel through mountain, one each on north east and west walls of city), so if anyone is good at finding/killing slimes it is much appreciated

The basement is my personal basement underneath my house. A 6 high, 10 16 wide, 10 deep space.
And yes, vertical on the community storage center. It’s probably going to be 60 high, 24 wide and deep.

I'm fine with a rugged appearance. I just think we can do better than just straight cobble.

Dear customers,

Due to a recent basement exacavation from our neighbor and partner, Inferno Construction Inc., a small cave in underneath the Surveyor’s Hut has occurred. As this was a temporary structure anyways, we will be tearing down the remaining structure over the next few days. We apologize for any inconvenience, but customers will still be able to order maps from our online store.

In other news, Crimson Dragon Enterprises will be opening its Nether Portal to the public shortly, as soon as it travels to and explores the local Nether Fortress. We intend to construct one or more Blaze farm, so we would appreciate if no spawners were removed at this time.
A portion of the resources found will be donated to the town.

Due to a recent discovery, plans to construct the Shatter Factory have been delayed in order to construct Femur Farms, a subsidy of Crimson Dragon Enterprises. This far will provide bone, arrows, and bows to the public at the following tentative prices:
Bones: 1 Iron or 8 Coal for 8 bones
Arrows: 2 Iron or 1 Gold for 8 arrows
Bows: 1 Diamond
Enchanted Bows will be priced higher as needed.

We are sorry to see that the wall project has been given to another supplier. We will not charge for the work already done, but we will no longer continue on the project.
