Just wanted to put in writing some of the basic guidelines we've always used as a community - see below. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to discuss them. These are also in the OP, along with a small note indicating that, my mistake, the DDSS Modded server is still up and running with all the same info, but will be phased out soon, most likely. Looking for opinions on a potential Modded server, but that depends on a lot of variables.

Server Guidelines

:

• NO griefing, NO stealing, NO PvP without explicit consent.
  
• Respect your fellow players and the server.
  * See below!
  
  
• Don't build ugly stuff where people will see it.

* This can be broken down in a bunch of ways.

Generally, in this community we support the following:

• Respect each others' space for mining and building. (Negotiate! Ask! Don't just intrude on somebody's building project/mining operation, etc.)
  
• Replant crops and trees you harvest, mainly in communal farms. (If you want to harvest somebody else's farm, ask! See above.)
  
• Respect the server's hardware. (This one is tricky, but discuss with an admin civilly if an issue comes up. Don't argue or get upset.)
  
• Try to reasonably limit looting/destroying generated structures (Exception: extremely remote areas or other Minecraft dimensions. This matters more in Modded than Vanilla.)
  
• Respect the other players and their choices (Example: everybody wants to be there to kill the Ender Dragon! This matters a bit more in Vanilla than in Modded.)
  
• Respect communal spaces like Nether Hub or Spawntown, if they exist. (You're always welcome to ask if you can improve something, and please fix it if you break it!)

It is available (All world files can be put up for download if people want them) but inaccessible at the moment as I'm currently running MC Eternal on it for the time being until you/we figure out what we wanna do there.

I downloaded world files and gave them to xevei a while back. It should be out there but I'd need to check the discord at home to remember where I put them.

I can probably run that pack. Provided I can figure out how to get it installed on MultiMc under Linux.

I'm perfectly fine with standard packs for now. Run 'em till they get old or fall over, and then pick another.

We had a pretty big snafu on modded.
Then it crashed and on the restart it was fixed. This probably just means that it hadn't saved in a while, at least long enough that the "incident" was forgotten.

davroe in particular could see some rollback depending on whether the save was before or after all that exploring.

Now for the fun stuff, what the f-d up situation was.
I ran across a dragon and tried to fight it.
It was winning handily so I did the obvious and /home'd out of there.

The dragon

came home with me

. As in it TP'd with me!!!
Mob griefing was on, and dragons do

not

respect the "no explosions" thing in FTB.
My base was toast, with 1000's of items all over the place.

Luckily it crashed while I was rebuilding, and when the server came back it had reverted to previous world save.

The fire & ice github now has a shiny new issue reported... Dragons should

not

teleport with the player.

world? kind of miss my ice hideout in the middle of nowhere. i have no clue what my minecraft credentials are either but i would figure it out for that.

The fire & ice github now has a shiny new issue reported... Dragons should not teleport with the player.

For that matter, pet dragons left unattended in your base shouldn't replace machines and things with ash and whatnot. Had to kill Baby Brogon Mostly because he blipped somewhere I could hear him but couldn't find him.

after reading this thread I was talking about minecraft with a couple of friends and made a realm. Dont intend to take over but if anyone wants to play vanilla let me know your minecraft name.

The Modded server is being upgraded to MC Eternal 1.3.5b, which has a bunch of nice updates. Same server name.

Back to TF to work my way up to the snow queen. Left off on Minotaur so hydra is next.
I'll probably have to travel a bit, most of the nearby bosses have already been killed.

Yeah it's way faster with a group. I did it with Dav and Yes and it took like a fifth of the time it took me to do it solo.

Flying for ages in TF to find a hydra and ur-ghast that hasn't been killed already is fun too lol.

BTW how does the sludgeon reset? Will it do its thing by having nobody there for a while?
