Google minecraft wiki and read the Wii page on enchanting. In order to get maximum level enchants you need bookshelves to a certain degree. You seem to know more about how things work in Minecraft than I do. I've just recently started playing it since 2012, and a lot of newer things have multiple mechanics about them that are unstated without research.

It appears we started at around roughly the same time! :P I started in late 2011. There are aspects I'm not as good in, such as anything combat related. i have no idea how the MC combat system works and typically hide in lit areas

Where's the swamp tunnel Profii was talking about? Not seeing it anywhere...

I started it from my mine - go downstairs in my house, through the door that says “to the mine!” Then take the first left

Gonna have another rail that goes to town to try and create a subway system and I’ll add the desert later

can someone tell me where the desert is?

people call it "the desert" so i guess there is a good one somewhere - I have built a train station in my house, the town and in the swamp - plus an interchange so once the rails are in place it's obvious how to get to places...

I'll add another platform for getting us to the desert if someone directs me :D

Go to town. Find the giant sand castle. Follow spiral staircase into basement. Follow tunnel to other end. You have found the desert!

There is a subway from mine to town and it’s anout 90 rails + power short of the swamp

Oh and when I dug down to put the red stone under the powered rails I noticed I’ve built the railway from town on top of... the abandoned mine shafts -.-

Ok, I understand what happened now. I went to a different Swamp right by the Desert, and didn't see a subway exit... because there wasn't one. @Profii, I finally found the subway station in Spawntown, but it's a bit hidden! I rode my horse to the Swamp exit, and I must say I like your style. :) Nice idea to use the 1.8 Stones; I've been throwing them out but I will happily contribute to your effort in that way.

If you'd be open to input, there are also some design tweaks I would make:
  • your ceilings are slightly too small to ride a horse through in some places (including in the tunnel to your house from Spawntown, for what it's worth)
  • we could light up the ground area beside the wooden "boardwalk" to the Swamp house, etc.
  • I haven't actually tested the railway yet, because the Minecarts were all concentrated at the wrong end, but I think you'll want more Powered Rails for a smooth ride that doesn't require people to hold down their forward button, though that's just my initial impression/opinion
Finally, I would love your permission to use your own style and add a station for Honeyopolis Resort/South Spawntown/Whatever we end up calling the area where Klaz, Rhinox, and I have settled.

I used the diorite because it kinda gives that tile/grout look of a subway underground I figured

Ideally I want all the subways to go to the rail exchange so we can get from a to b with 1 “change” if that makes sense - feel free to add a line to your area - I’m trying to keep the subway on level 50 so plan your route!

The rails that are connected do work without pressing forward but I had limited gold so it’s probably not full speed all the way - if anyone wants to help feel fre :)


I hid the station in town because it was just a neat way to integrate into the land without terraforming - if it gets used you’ll learn it ;)


Why are you riding a horse in the subway :lol:


I thought I did light up the boardwalk - if it needs more go for it

Oh I think I get what you mean about the swamp area - I purposely limited use of torches around there to encourage slime spawn potential but I’m a noob and if anyone knows how to encourage slimes do it

I had thought Slimes ignore light level when spawning, but a quick Google search shows me I was only partially right: they ignore light level inside "slime chunks" below y-40, so you were right to leave the Swamp unlit. We should at least have some fencing or other nicer-looking partition up along the boardwalk, for safety's sake. Fun fact! Slimes spawn in Swamps much more frequently on a full moon, and not at all on a new moon.

I'll definitely start the station soon, when I talk to Klaz and figure out a good location that's closer to the "center" of where our settlement will be. But I'll definitely keep the track at y-50. I took a bunch of Cobblestone from one of the construction chests inside the tunnel, hope that's ok.

I was going for the red dead redemption outskirts of Saint Denis style boardwalk so no fences :P the water is only waist height anyway

I might be on but I don’t care because I’m working on clearing the mine shaft and I’ve finished the desert rail too now

Might see if it’s possible to put a rail link from desert to swamp just to make a loop

MODDED NEWS!!


I've created a new modded pack with a theme -
MAGIC
. Tech mods are very limited, for instance, no Thermal Expansion or EnderIO (but Actually Additions and Extra Utils 2 are included). The full modlist and current pack file download can be found here. The idea here is to explore new branches and ways of doing things to bring that bright "newbie" shine back to modded since we've basically always had the same things over and over and over again.

The files have been uploaded to a server for testing while I work on the configs:

Once testing and configs are done, I'll upload both the mods and configs folders, and put the links in the OP. I am using MultiMC to launch. We can port to Twitch after if necessary.
