Launching it now but way too late to stay up and try to login. We'll see in the morning if the launch worked.

Whoever killed all the cows I was breading to get a shitton of leather for books to make an enchanting room for the town, I'd like it if we could split some of the leather since I went to the effort to breed so many cows for you to kill

Maru, that was me, I bred the cows then massacred them. I have 17? leather left, feel free to head to my place to grab the leather.

I plan to replenish the stock when i get back on.

Something needs to be done about the modded server. That kind of lag wouldn't be playable over the long-term, especially if people were online often (they're not). Also, we should really have a config download; my client, which was fine 2 days ago, can no longer connect because of some kind of server mismatch. I'm liking Vanilla's chances a little better, even if we did lose some active players...

The block lag went away with 6GB of ram.
I don't know ETL's plans for config tuning, if any.

Near my IRL house there is a new housing development going in where an old golf course used to be. Large flat area. They came in, clear cut all the trees (still surrounded by trees at the borders), and pretty much bulldozed the whole thing flat. The built a couple model homes already right in the corner near the entrance. I was driving by at night last week and noticed they put street lights scattered all throughout the cleared area, probably where the roads will be tho there aren't any roads yet. It looks like minecraft IRL, scattering torches all around to keep the mobs from spawning :lol: . I meant to have a pic to share with this story but there's been too much traffic to stop and snap one each time I've driven by.

Also it's that time again... to start maze planning. Probably 7 years ago I built my first maze in the 3rd realm I believe. It was small and annoying with doors and ladders and pretty improvised. I've been mostly planning ever since, a couple failed projects, the big ziggurat one with the dragon on top got finished but the server died without really being able to give it a grand opening. I've written 3 different versions of an excel VBA schematic generating scripts over the years, and today I just finished updating the version I started over 2 years ago (wow !!) for a 2x2 maze with staircases and it works great! I know exactly what I want the maze to look like. I need to pick block theming and collect a metric f*ckton of resources but I really want this to be the server I finally complete a maze and other people actually get to try before the world inevitably implodes :] (talking about the vanilla server obvs).

As long as you build a gauntlet next door I'm fine with anywhere ;). Still working out the size details but footprint will probably end up being pretty big for what I'm planning.

Yah it’s default configs for the moment. I’m working on them and need help testing mods

Thaumic Bases is adding things that require stuff you can't get. In particular, Sano is added as an aspect but there are no items that have it that don't require it to make. Don't know what else.
Given it breaks things, it would be best to omit it.

Happy Tuesday all!

I've helped ETL finished the release updates to the pack, and your comments are welcome. New links, changes, etc. are on the first page of the ScumPack 9 Google Sheet, and I've documented all changes from mod defaults in this Google Doc. Many of these changes were already present in SP 9alpha, or they've been discussed/documented on FB Messenger, IRC, or the Google Sheet. The modpack link will go up on the server once I get final approval on the list of enabled BoP biomes from ETL - you can add your comments on those in another page of the Google Sheet.

I'll be including the following in the pack download:

options.txt.Maestro***

*Contains the official Connected Texture Mod variant resource pack, with full Vanilla default texture support and some modded support.

** You will not need to input the IP for the server - it's automatically picked up from this file! Look for it under Multiplayer.

***Rename/remove the ".Maestro" from the end of this file's name to use my custom keybinds. I disabled many that are used situationally or are almost never used to allow for the more common keybinds to take up more logical spots on letters, punctuation, etc. I also have a NumPad on my keyboard... in general, keep in mind not all of these will work for everyone and I get many have their personal preference, which is why the ".Maestro" extension is there. This is an opt-in. The game won't recognize this file if you don't choose to remove that extension and use my keybinds.

Config comments:

Strongly disagree with letting wizards target creepers. Don't need more random holes in the landscape even if they are outside claimed areas.
I found wizard tower rarity to be ok. Making them more rare makes them harder to find, but finding them is important to progression.

Biomes:
Undergarden is the nether biome that has grass and trees. I'm ok with it.
Strongly prefer saying no to the nether biomes that are mostly soul sand and flesh (corrupted sands and visceral heap)
Additional comments in the sheet.

BoP features: quicksand, poison pools, poison ivy off, if still configurable

Without tech to find them directly (digi miner, quarry) I find diamonds to be too rare. Nearly a month and total diamonds found was about 40 after making swiss cheese of two areas about 50-80 chunks in size each. Less than 10 in stock. I was worried about being able to make repairs.

I can put the pack on Curse when ready. Is there a plan to test any more?

I'm all for moving up to the newer shinier versions so long as the moves are never accompanied by world restarts. We might as well at least go to 1.13.2 whenever.

I agree re: diamonds. I always bump diamonds coal and iron. Not all mods account for their hoggage
