no, it's 3 health per second, faster if not taking damage

but I agree, it's not very useful.

which is why the blutsager is the better weapon

40 syringes per clip at 3 health per hit

even if you have shitty aim it's more health at a faster rate
I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.

I played alot last weekend. Using a mouse pad has somehow corrected the lazer issue for the most part. Will likly still get a gamer's mouse as i still think using my right hand for that will make things easier. Also i got a crap ton of items from trades and some very generous people. So I am doing pretty good now, very few items i am still interested in trying. I realize most items are tradeoffs (loose one stat to gain another) in this game but some tradeoffs are definatly worth the reward

I sort of messed up a little bit. I got a flare gun via achievement count for the pyro and I also found one via drop. Meant to craft the drop one into some metal but accidently crafted the other into some metal and eventually wound up with a untradable amputator. This amputator helped me complete the medieval medic set i have been using so yay I wasn't going to trade it anyway

I still have a flare gun from the drop so at least I still got a flare gun

Aside from having an untradeable item are there any other bad sides to metalizing your achievables?

If there are bad things I am not seeing, are there ways to undo them?

Not really. They're treated like normal items; and I think "Untradeable" goes away after a while- they put it on there just to stop scammers, so you can't get easy acheivements and then turn around and trade. Metalizing isn't really bad, though, if you aren't going to use it anyway. Though some things are worth more than 1 scrap in trade, if you want to get into the game's trading economy.

The "untradeable" tag doesn't go away, but outside of specific high-value items, it doesn't matter.

I remembered being told that the Untradeable tag goes away after owning the item for long enough. Could be wrong, of course. But like Glork said, it doesn't matter a ton for most stuff- all of the older weapons and achievement weapons aren't really worth anything in trade anyway. Basically the only things worth trading are the newer weapons, item set weapons, and hats.

nope, doesn't go away

generally, unless you're really into trading it doesn't matter at all.

cool, was afraid i had fucked myself somehow there or needed that exact item to prove I had a certain achievement value

By the way I just had an interesting thought. Let's say you are a spy and you disguise yourself as someone that has pyrovision goggles on. Will you now see the world in pyrovission as a spy?

So I got the achievement for the bow and arrow as a sniper. But I played with it a while back and thought it sucked. So I crafted it into metal. Is there any way for me to get it back? Does it random drop?

yes it random drops and can be crafted via the class, slot, scrap method. Both ways require a little luck but it can happen

Huntsman is really only great for beginners, though. Once you start getting past that, you want the Bazaar Bargain or the Sydney Sleeper, depending on what kind of Sniper you want to play.

Not at all.

Sydney Sleeper doesn't let you headshot.
Machina doesn't let you no-scope.
Bazaar Bargain is the only comparable one, but it's really only used if you're given an opportunity to camp undisturbed for long enough to reduce the charge.
Huntsman is for people who are fucking terrible at aiming (and/or trololol)
Heatmaker does less damage on body shots and the no-unscoping part of its ability is actually a hindrance.

At a high/competitive level, the balance and versatility of the standard Sniper Rifle is an absolute necessity in most cases.

I use Machina, if you find yourself no-scoping regularly something's gone wrong.

Huntsman isn't bad.

Otherwise what Glork said.

Okay, I'll just deal with the random drops for now. The Machina is fine for the little that I play sniper (that plus piss gar plus the knife that bleeds = my sniper load). I don't really know the names of weapons. I just know what they do.

Machina's only upside is if you let yourself fully charge a large majority of the time you take a shot. And if you're doing that, pure probably doing it wrong.

Personally, I like the Sydney Sleeper, just because I'm bad with Twitch Aiming for Headshots. Much easier to get Charged Bodyshots, and Sleeper applies Jarate, so at least the guy will die somehow.

no, that's the sleeper

machina gives +15% damage in exchange for tracer bullets (which give away your position but any halfway decent player should spot you by the time you're shooting anyway) and forced scope (which you should be doing all the time anyway)
