Got back from GP indy late last night. This was the first team event I've ever played in and gotta say it was a blast. Helped that we had an awesome finish at 10-4, but I'm going to do everything that I can to make it to GP Columbus in April. Team limited is a really sweet format and I'm actually pretty excited for the upcoming team pro tour despite being indifferent about it before this weekend.
Thanks! Yeah we cashed which was awesome. Also got to beat up on a couple of pro teams which felt great. While we definitely overachieved considering our relatively low experience level, this result has me pretty excited to continue the PPTQ and GP grind to see what happens.
I'm looking to get into Standard this season before Kaladesh goes out of rotation. Looking at a Blue/Black Pirates deck with Marionette Masters and Tidy Conclusions. Thoughts? Suggestions?

AThat's a shame, since it would be so good with Pirates. Guess I'll switch that out with some Contract Killings then.

Neither of them really are. They cost too much mana.
I am reasonably sure that if you are playing pirates you want to be an aggressive shell, which means 5 mana is a lot and spending 5 mana for a kill spell is just not what such decks want to be doing.
The black kill spell you want to be playing in this meta of scarab god's and hazorets is vraska's contempt.
Heres an example of what an aggressive BR pirates deck could look like:
4 Daring Buccaneer
4 Rigging Runner
1 Grasping Scoundrel
3 Dire Fleet Poisoner
3 Kari Zev, Skyship Raider
4 Kitesail Freebooter
4 Ruin Raider
3 Forerunner of the Coalition
1 Dire Fleet Neckbreaker
1 Rowdy Crew
4 Lightning Strike
4 Shock
2 Abrade
4 Dragonskull Summit
4 Canyon Slough
8 Mountain
6 Swamp
Oh, I thought you meant that it was banned!
Actually, I'm not looking to play aggressive with this deck. It's supposed to be blue/black control pirates, with more focus on the treasure tokens than the attacking itself.

Which is why I want the Tidy Conclusions, because while 5 mana for a kill spell alone is not that good, 5 mana for a kill spell plus 5+ life and at instant speed is not bad, especially with cards like Ghalta in the meta right now.

If you want to play blue black control, there is a shell already and its probably a lot better than anything you could be doing with pirates:
3 Torrential Gearhulk
4 Ravenous Chupacabra
2 The Scarab God
6 Island
6 Swamp
4 Drowned Catacomb
2 Evolving Wilds
4 Fetid Pools
2 Field of Ruin
1 Ipnu Rivulet
4 Censor
1 Consign // Oblivion
4 Disallow
3 Essence Scatter
4 Fatal Push
4 Hieroglyphic Illumination
2 Moment of Craving
2 Vraska's Contempt
2 Search for Azcanta
sb:
3 Glint-Sleeve Siphoner
1 Vizier of Many Faces
2 Moment of Craving
3 Negate
1 Tetzimoc, Primal Death
1 Arguel's Blood Fast
1 Bontu's Last Reckoning
3 Duress
Ghalta is seeing some amount of play, but very little and its answered by chupacabra, essence scatter and disallow in this list.
You should be more concerned with answering the scarab god, which is the defining card in standard right now. Along with hazoret and aggressive red/white/black creature decks, 5 mana is just too much. You'll be dead before you can cast it in a lot of matchups.
if you wanted to play with treasure tokens etc., you'd probably want to go all in on the treasure, and I don't think those spells fit in that shell. that deck is probably not very viable though, so prepare to lose a lot unless you take it to a very casual fnm meta.

What's not very viable? Treasure Tokens?

I am doing something rampy, in the form of Marionette Master. Unless I'm stupid and I don't understand how tokens work (which is completely possible and probably accurate), I can use it's ability to drain 4 life from my opponent with every Treasure I sack.

That seems pretty good, but also very iffy. It looks like a lot of creature removal, which if your opponent is tutoring out or playing a lot of creatures, it could struggle. Definitely could use at least another Fumigate.

Yeah, I recommend looking at the various hidden stockpile + anointed procession shells. They sometimes include treasure map and marionette master which can produce a combo finish that comes out of no where. Seems to be the closest thing to what you've described that is reasonably viable in standard right now. Of course viability depends somewhat on where you'll be playing and what your budget is. Huge difference between kitchen table games between friends who have limited card availability, an average FNM, and major tournaments like a GP or SCG.
Yeah that was my weekend in Indy as well. Feels like another bad limited format where whoever gets to start coming downhill without wasting mana/turns first wins.
