I love 2 tsp 1plc. I won like 4 drafts at the prerelease with muscle sliver. I also pulled a damnation in sealed.

They will sadly never make a format half that complicated again.

Was it complicated? draft 5 muscle slivers. Draft other slivers. Win.

Getting 5 muscle slivers would be extremely rare. But yes, it was complicated. There was nearly every keyword in the game in that set (for the time), obscure references to old cards few people could appreciate, shit tons of activated abilities or triggered abilities on common creatures that make it difficult to understand board states. Just compare commons between it and a set since like m10.

Since the theme seems to be going back to old sets, there should be a Return to Alara in the next 3-5 years.

Resharding Alara?

Rumors I've heard suggest we're getting a third Mirrodin block.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

My 2HG was prettyy fun. I was random matched with a partner, but he was fun to play with. I played UG, and I hardly ever play blue, so that was interesting. He pulled a Nissa, and she was useful for drawing attention when she came out, but other than that we didn't get much utility from her. She had to +2 to survive, which means she wasn't 0 or -6 ing.

He played WB, mostly focused on lifegain and more control. We didn't get any good red cards, unfortunately.

I opened my other event packs, and did get a new Liliana, so that's good.

I think I'll start doing standard again, I kind of missed playing.

yeah I'm enjoying it. I mean glyph keeper and glorybringer are annoying at rare. but if you play a low-to-the-ground aggro deck you can just curve out and then their bomb doesn't matter.

Got to open 6 boxes for the Hour set for individual card sales last week. Best was masterpiece Blood Moon and Opposition.

Might get back into standard again- these card prices arent too ridiculous.

1 game win away from the Pro Tour :(

Lost in game 3 in the semis of a 2-invite RPTQ. I cycled the invite though, so I get to try again next season.

Pulled an Invocation Opposition in a draft with friends during my artist residency this past week, I am so psyched to (kinda) get back into the game. Any recs for a filthy casual who doesn't even like purchasing singles yet? The fun of opening packs en masse still isn't gone for me yet.

Was top 64 at SCG Louisville this weekend playing the following:

4 snap
4 Emmy

4 breach
4 serum
4 path
4 bolt
4 remand
2 izzet charm
2 electrolyze
1 spell snare
3 cryptic

4 strand
4 tarn
5 island
2 loothouse
2 colonnade
2 fountain
2 sulfur falls
2 vents
1 plains

Sb
1 verdict
2 ceremonious rejection
1 negate
1 keranos
1 roast
1 explosives
2 anger
1 Jace
1 Stony silence
2 by force
2 gigadrowse

It's impressive that I did as well as I did playing a manabase as objectively wrong as the one I played. The fact that there is no basic mountain and no sacred foundry is literally unforgivable, but I was not punished by ghost quarter specifically because my opponents gave me credit for having a basic mountain in my deck even when I didn't.

The deck plays remarkably like old splinter twin lists where you play the control game which forces your opponents to commit to the board while threatening to win the game with a combo at any time. The deck felt reeeeeeaaally good to me, and I think that if I were going to make changes they would be small ones.

Two islands should be the aforementioned mountain and sacred foundry respectively. I think I'd like one supreme verdict in the main. Not sure what the cut is for it, though.

Basically the deck just felt obscenely powerful and very difficult to play against and you get a lot of equity from people a) not knowing what you're playing or b) living in fear of the combo while you just snapcaster cryptic them out of the game.

As for standard is there any point in playing standard right now? The whole format is changing in like a week.
