The Pokemon Nuzlocke Thread

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

Emulators can save the state of the game at any time so that you can return to that exact moment later.

Fightings in Gen 1...such a sad race. The best one they get is Machamp. He's the only one not OHKO'd by Alakazam's Psychic. Then there's Hitmonlee who's not too shabby, Primeape who's eh and Hitmonchan who's in the bottom 3 of all final evolutions (along with Ditto and Golbat).

Enter Gen 2 with Dark and Steel, woop woop, Machamp is suddenly a viable option on plenty of teams.

Balotelli the Squirtle was defeated by "Fucker"'s Bulbasaur. I lost the first battle. Two critical hits directly after one another. Fuck.

Might restart my ruby and try this, I never actually did finish it because I couldn't catch Groudon(didn't want to masterball it) and the gave up and bought a DSlite to play SoulSilver. I don't fancy restarting either of my White or Platinum and if I restart SS it'll be for my Lance run, that kinda only leaves Ruby.

Why would you guys ever want to do this? Seems like torture. Especially a no items run.

Nope, didn't. Like, I can get it working on regular wifi, but there aren't any actual hot spots near me for the nintendo thing, I think. I tried it at a McDonald's, which was SUPPOSED to work, and it didn't, so.

To make it harder? Unless you do a monotype run or something like that then Pokemon is very easy. Hell, with type effectiveness and stat benefit, you can be taking pokemon 5-10 levels above you.

This isn't what I consider difficult.

This is what I consider boring and filled with grinding.

Also, I've never felt that Pokemon was always easy (what do you consider beating the game?). Of course, I seem to have the worst luck and always get hit by crits or effects or some other random shit that life decides to throw at me.

I'm curious at some of the names, though. :P

I like grinding, in almost all sense of the word, so this appeals to me, hence me doing it.

I'm SUPER PISSED you can't save more than one file on your black/white cartridge, though. Like wtf, I know that is technologically possible. I'd much rather that than a stupid emulator, but I don't want to kill my save.
