The Pokemon Nuzlocke Thread

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

^wrong, mewtwo's new form is adorable and infinitely better looking than normal mewtwo.
She will replace the other Golbat that was already in my team.
Poor normal colored golbat :(

(congrats though!)

I wonder how long it will take for roms to be made once X and Y are released.

Nuzlocke's of XY will probably be the most depressing, with the whole new "Pokemon amie" feature where you give extra love and attention to your pokemans

If I had a second or third copy I would! :P
I generally leave the nuzlockes to emulators.
(Shinies and event pokemon too important ~_~)

BUYING A 3DS just for a single game

WORTH IT OR NOT
Well, why do you buy consoles? Games. Doesn't matter how many games you get if you are going to get long term enjoyment out of it! You just have to question whether or not you will spend time trading over all of your previous mon's catching/breeding/trading with others. If post game stuff doesn't matter to you and you only care about beating it then it's not worth it. But if you want to do anything beyond that, then why not?
Big name games are always console sellers, there's no shame in such a decision. Also 2DS is cheaper if you don't care about folding your handheld. (The 3D feature isn't really
that
great because pretty much no one can stand long term exposure to it)

Ani woulda been around 5 when Yellow came out, which whether he played it then or not... is an okay age to play it.
My little sister played my version of sapphire when she was 5 somewhat decently though she still had to ask me a lot of questions.

PSH magneton is awesome. Magnezone on the other hand... eugh.
But you still have a valid point. Every gen has it's bland/bad designs but it's overall a personal preference.

The only reason RBY was so simple was due to graphical limitations on the gameboy.
Simpler doesn't always equal better imo, and I feel that X/Y does have it's fair share of "simplistic" pokemon.

Pancham is very simple, for example. (black/white color scheme white a cute simple shape)
In fact a good portion of pokemon in X/Y have 3 or less total colors.

Though overall the amount of generation 1 references in pokemon XY clearly shows a bit of pandering. (The first forest is an EXACT replica of the first forest in pokemon red/blue/yellow... there is a snorlax that you catch blocking a route and have to get a pokeflute...etc.)

Also only 70 new pokemon in X/Y, and you can catch almost every single pokemon in the game just with X/Y and there is a good spread of various pokemon from various generations all throughout the game. Some people dislike the sheer number of pokemon that you can catch but I personally enjoy it.

Ditto is awesome in the show, because when he transforms into pokemon he keeps the silly face.
If only they had done this with him in the games, he would be so much better.

Not even close, at least it has some likable qualities (such as being kind of cute...)
... these are probably the ugliest pokemon as well as legendaries of all time.
