Pokemon X/Y Thread

started Pokemon X today and it's honestly giving me mixed feelings. I feel like it's featuring a lot of my favorite pokemon, which is strange because I feel like so many of my favorites are dark horses and would never be considered.

However, maybe the non-grid-locked 3Dness of it all is throwing me off, but it just feels...like a ROMhack? Like everything is moving very swiftly, there are a bajillion catchable pokemon, the towns so far don't feel very developed. It's just all really strange.

Of course I'll keep playing, I'm only at Lumiose City so that may also be part of the problem.

I might have to play again without Exp. Share on. Right now I'm like 7 to 10 levels ahead of the wild pokemon, which is pretty ahead given how I usually play.

So my stepbrother gave me Pokemon X for Christmas. I haven't played a retail pokemon game since the original Gold (and Nuzlocke hacks of Emerald). What should I do to maximize my enjoyment of this game?

but seriously, turn off exp share. (unless you enjoy playing vs gym leaders 10-20 levels below you)

YES TURN OFF EXP SHARE. But Exp Share makes Nuzlocking easier so gotta appreciate.

I am te slowest game player ever so I'm only 4 gyms in now. It's still OK; biggest selling point is that the Kalos Pokedex is HUGE so you're constantly seeing new pokemon which is nice.

I'm not much of a gamer, but with Danganronpa coming to Windows FINALLY so I can try it and RBY being rereleased, February 2016 is like a pinnacle gaming month for me.
