I heard it was good from my League friends but haven't tried it personally. I'll play with you this weekend if you want to give it a shot (I'm in that Dead Island MOBA too I haven't tried that one either)
On the topic of newer MOBAs, I've tried Strife and Heroes of the Storm lately.
Strife is okay, better than I thought. The pet system is cool, but the amount of out of game influence is pretty awful (but at least the heroes are all free, I can live with upgrading pets and all that noise). My number one complaint in the game is that you as an individual can't do jack shit. To get a single kill you basically need like two other people. But the coolest part is if you sit around not getting hit for a while, your regen for mana/hp like doubles so you don't have to go back to fountain as much. Their gold system is nice too, if a creep is last hit near you by you or a team mate you get gold.
Heroes of the Storm is pretty disappointing. Taking the worst part of League's model, it's a game I doubt I'm going to play much in the future if at all. They use the "buy champions and use hero rotation" and that kills me. At least there isn't any out of game influence at the moment. The skins and such I've seen are really going to make the game a joke though. BUT, it is fun. It's a bit unconventional, doing a lot of things to change up the genre, which I respect. You start with all abilities minus ultimate and there are no items, instead you can choose different "talents" every 2 levels (Improving individual abilities, improving damage to structures, improving health, random things). Everyone shares experience which is terrible because it always ends up with one team snowballing HARD. I have yet to see a comeback in a single game, the game is like decided 5 minutes in. Hero design is pretty eh, think like Warcraft 3 Ladder Heroes but in Dota, doesn't work as well. I see some people super excited about Heroes of the Storm and honestly, don't be. It's not worth getting excited for, it's okay at best.
Edit: I also tried Dawngate and "eh'd" out of it pretty quickly. Just doesn't really add anything interesting enough to make me play it in my opinion.
Edit2: Both Strife and HotS have this terrible "Pick hero before you're matched with your team" system as well. It's depressing when developers do this shit. In the Rise of Immortals beta they had it so you picked your hero when you logged in, like a World of Warcraft character system but with heroes. I told them in the beta "You guys, this isn't going to work, it goes completely against the genre. You can lose the game in the picking stage, you can't just cut it out. You have to change the entire system or your game is going to fail." I got a bunch of "Rise of Immortals is trying to do something new and different" garbage and left the beta really annoyed. I can't tell you how big I grinned when I saw that the game went under. Stupid Petroglyph.

Come see me in the Great American Melodrama in Oceano
The gotham heights map on infinite crisis is essentially lol dominion. I haven't tried the other one. Some of the heroes are alright. I liked flash when I tried him.
I gave this a shot and it was really shitty - frame rate / quality was ass on my computer that plays LoL fine on low-medium settings. Extremely difficult to understand what's happening in-game. Do not recommend. Try a different MOBA.
