Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

Witcher 3, halp

So a friend convinced me to buy Witcher 3 on steam. I'm playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty and I can see the game is not very forgiving. Anyone else play this? this is the first that I've played in the series and its a bit overwhelming but pretty fun. Any advice on builds or mechanics is appreciated.

it's really nice a real experience
but i can't fall in love with it
that's a lot to ask of a video game
but i know there are more out there that can do that
than i'll ever have time to play

i want to love it
i mean i paid money for it
but all the fights feel the same
each subplot is sort of predictable
i'm given choices but it's hard to tell how consequential they are
i feel like i'm only still playing it because i don't want my money to go to waste

did you play 1 & 2 or read any of the books? i think that multiplies my enjoyment of the series because i actually feel related to geralt

i mean, i can understand just walking into witcher 3 would not give you a goty feeling. i just love high fantasy

i also particularly like how it does gray morality where the difference between two paths isn't akin to close a factory to open a school or reinstate a child labor policy lol
