Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

... how is this not a thing yet?

So, I played the entire game through with Chespin and Riolu (currently doing postgame stuff). Let me just say that I feel like Gamefreak goes out of their way to shit on grass types whenever possible. So many regions with solely ice types, or mostly fire types. It's ridiculous. Love the game but holycrap is it HARD. At least compared to previous ones.

Also, during postgame,
I'm so stuck on the 3rd postgame dungeon (the first one that allows you to bring a team). Vanilluxe is freaking crazy.

I don't know how this game works at all, but you saying this made me wonder why they might do that. Making the three start choice a secret easy/normal/hard difficulty selection would make a lot of sense.
Taking a break from the site.

In the gen1, easy was grass, though. Bulbasaur had type advantage on like 1/2 the gyms.

I only mean for Super Mystery Dungeon anyways (wording is hard). Seriously, so many bosses are hard for Grass types because of their typing...

How's the story? Closer to Gates or Explorers?

Closer to Gates. It's really slow, though. At least it's really slow for me.

That's unfortunate to hear. Explorers is the marquis for storylines in the Pokemon series.

That said, there's quite a bit of post-game thanks to being able to connect to every Pokemon ever and
Treasure Collecting.

Yeah the original was great, but Explorers took everything great about them and made it better.
