Is there something you can do about the frame-rate?
It's understandable if it's on the recording end of things.
I've tried recording games a few times and I've had similar issues.

So, I actually went through a small adventure to be able to play Xcom.

My computer is a bit below minimum specs (8G i7, GFX 550 -- hey, it was a strong computer when I bought it in 2012). I decided to try it anyway. The game run, but there were huge frame rate issues at minimum.

Checking out my specs, I noticed that my drivers were not active! Would that help? So I downloaded the newest drivers and... the system stopped booting (still worked from rescue mode). I found out that my entire OS was desperately out of date, so that "might" have been the reason (along with all the cruft that accumulates from 4 years of use).

After four hours trying different solutions (open source drivers, closed source drivers, OS updates, changing packages). I just decided to reinstall the system from scratch. Two hours to backup my personal files and install the new system, and everything was working peachy, including the newest drivers!

Except that now steam would not recognize my library... a bit more internet searching revealed how to move the games from the old library to the new one, and finally I manage to get it running! It runs surprisingly smoothly at minimal (I'm not playing Xcom for the graphics), and I've made it past the first black site.

Even my computer got XCOM'ed!

Ok, change of plans. Restarting again. I got no problems with this but I think my recording software has a memory leak that is contributing to some issues. :nod: I want high quality ish videos. (Can't improve my annoying voice), but this will work.

The first three or so videos will function as a tutorial of sorts. They do have story related information though. :nod:

Maybe skip the tutorial the first one where our squad members aren't in and throw me in first playable mission.

That will likely bar you from being psionic. I can't pick troops until the third mission.

Hmm but having more than one psi would be sub optimal so Grenadier would be fine. It would be cool if i Have suppression and focus on grenades.

If you get promoted by being up early, the game will randomly select your class unless i bring you along to have you not kill anyone.

I survived and even have a short epilogue:

If you're still in need of cannon fodder (or VIPs [dark or not], I don't mind popping up as a random scientist or assassination target) sign me up. I'd rather have less of a wide jawline and maybe a hair pattern that wasn't so slicked back but also ~ same length and color. I'd also prefer a deeper shade of green armor that doesn't look as weighty. Go with an American nationality and voice I guess... and had a headband. Black gun? I'll leave any other cosmetics up to your discretion

My first play through was on Legendary, I lasted three months. My current play through is on Legendary again and I'm four months in and fingers crossed feeling good.

The early game is so much more forgiving then XCOM the first's, god bless the lack of thinmen and the inability of the troopers to one shot your rooks.

@AD, For this play through, I need a ranger to take over for tutorial ranger since my mafiascum rangers keep dying. So were body snatcher shift.

Dark VIP is blasphemy. It's reserved for anyone collaborating to take down mafiascum.

i wish there was a button to automatically make all members run to the evac zone and evac, if it is possible for all members to do so.

I have taken my first loss of my second run, her epitaph in the memorial is "Maybe grenading codex pods is a bad idea".

Pro-tip: Lobbing incendiary devices into the middle of a pack of codexi does not end well.

it's even better when they dodge on a 100% chance to hit that would have killed them

so damn infuriating, though I don't think I've actually lost anyone to codexes in my game.
