The line between legendary and just story-important Pokémon had been kinda blurred, what with the main legendaries being evolved from something and there being multiple copies of some of the UBs and two Cosmogs appearing in one game (although the second Cosmog is strongly implied to be from an alternate universe)

Type: Null cannot breed, which is the most reliable legendary sign I suppose (the only non-legendaries that can't breed are Nidorina and Nidoqueen, Unown, baby Pokémon, and Battle Bond Greninja), since while Manaphy does breed it doesn't breed to produce more Manaphy.

But I haven't seen any other places call Type: Null legendary, not Serebii or Bulbapedia or official Pokémon sources besides the Pokédex having a different coloured background so it's really ambiguous.

honestly any pokemon where you can only get a limited amount of them is basically legendary imo

but i forget whether or not fossil pokemon can breed so i dunno

well the tapus ubs and type null are not technically legendary so

If you select the "exclude legendary and mythical Pokémon" option on the GTS it doesn't include the Tapus or UBs in the results.

yes, and it's only because if you don't want to trade a lunala for that shiny magikarp, you don't want to trade a buzzwole either, and they couldn't be bothered to write out "exclude legendary pokemon, mythical pokemon and ultra beasts"

So the Cosmog line isn't legendary either, as you find a second one of them. I mean, Cosmog is technically an Ultra Beast in the story.

I'm trying to catch a Tapu Lele with low Attack (not even necessarily going for 0 IVs), but literally 16/18 so far have had 31 IV in Attack. It's getting really annoying.
