does Symmetra even work on offense? I've only played her on point capture defense side

what i do as offense symmetra is play really really offensively for a minute or two to rack up ultimate charge, while setting up turrets in a side room further behind where the defense is camping (you'll be able to find one, almost always). set up the teleporter there so you can instantly flank them, and defend it with your life and short-range weapon (the longer it connects to someone, the stronger it gets - after 2-3 secs, 120 dps)

Flavour knowledge won't be necessary. The characters are super cool as is.

I enjoy a variety of shooters. If I get this i will probably main
Soldier 76 (He plays like he is from COD or Halo)
Junkrat (I feel he is most tf2 like character and i love explosives, probably gonna be my main main)
Roadhog (I was on a pro UT clan back in the day, i<3flak cannons)
Lucio (Seems like most fun support imo)

All the tank characters excluding zarya look fun

If I get this, should I get it on xbox one, ps4, or pc?
What is everyone playing on?
Is there cross play?

I'd really love to know about crossplay too. My PC will only run it on lowest graphic settings, but I don't want to buy it for xbone if I can't play with my bnet friends

I don't think cross play is happening. Also I think consoles only have the $60 version, which seems odd because some of the extras are for games you wouldn't play on a console.

I put off looking at this game until like two days ago so I missed the beta

probably maining Mercy as a support since she's basically LoL-Kayle and TF2-Medic and I played both a lot in their respective games

Mei, Reaper, Zenyatta and Reinhardt look fun as hell

Mercy is pretty much the same as Medic! She's hella fun too.

also the one chick that has a Portal gun looks fun

there's only a few characters I don't think I'll really like (the one that's basically Engi for example) but I'm still watching and re-watching the ability overview vids and some gameplay vids
