Apparently they've redone some of the damage math to make things closer to the regular games.

Not just one egg. All the event pokestops will be dropping special 2KM eggs. My assumption is they'll be 10k eggs but only need 2k steps. There's a walking circle in the park that they'll have set up.

I'm fairly certain, based on other observations, that they will be 2k eggs that hatch some type of guarateed shiny. The tl;dr of evidence is basically:
1) Niantic have said that everyone will be able to get what they players at the Chicago Fest get.
2) New sprites for Pikachu, Raichu, and Gastly have shown up in-game, similar to the new Karp/Gyarados models that appeared right before they could be shiny.
3) Pichu and Gastly come from 2k eggs.

idk if they're going to continue to release shinies in batches, but if they do, Pichu/Gastly shinies from the event makes the most sense.

Just went and took one over.
You need to defeat each Pokémon about 5 times to take it out of the gym. I guess now it's just a question of how long I last before that gym goes back to yellow

I've known there's other people still playing the game, it's exactly the same as any other time I've taken over a gym here.

They should be happy to know that there's non-instincts still around.

But they already have the other 10 gyms I can see, why do they need so many!

I just would need to be sure it had some sort of competitive element that was way, way better than the release version and that relied on some semblance of strategy. I don't care about new pokemon.

I assume the gym raids that are coming soon are meant to do that?

Right now the gyms are basically still the same thing as before, just with less Pokémon and no need to prestige if you're one of the first six there

Spent most of this weekend out and about doing the pokemons. Discord was big for organizing raids. My phone kept melting down in the heat and the app fell apart but I did manage to snag an Articuno so I'm happy.

after an afternoon in the blistering heat of downtown Raleigh Sunday, I got myself about ~100k Stardust, over 200k experience, and even hatched a Chansey for 60(!) more candy. evolved my 93iv one, now I just need about ~17 more to max my second Blissey woo.

attempted a Lugia raid with a bunch of other people. no Lugia for me, but I got a Charge TM... really really need Quick ones* but I guess my new ZHeadbutt/HBeam Blissey is a good use for now?

oh btw, the event's extended for ~72 hours.

* 98.7iv Golem with Ground/Rock attacks, 98.7iv TTar with Iron Head/Crunch, two Rhydon with Rock Smash/Stone Edge (91 and 95 ivs I think?), rolled my second Dragonite (93iv) and got Steel Wing/Outrage... sigh.

kinda want the gym close to me to have one just to see how the turn out would be.

I saw three legendary raids in town happening at the same time today. There was also two yesterday.

There was noone hanging around the closest one to me, so i haven't got one yet.

Bagged a couple of Articuno, one of which is 96%. Haven't raided a Lugia yet but that's the plan today.

Earned a touch under 900k experience so far, will def hit Level 36 this week now that they've extended the bonus window.
