Sorry. My answer wasn't entirely serious, as I was throwing out the Pokémon catchphrase. The others are basically correct about catching Pokémon and then battling them with others, though.
ran into easily 30+ people downtown tonight playing, including a huge group at a park where someone dropped a Lure. took the Raleigh Capitol Building from Team Red with the help of another Blue after it glitched out on us for about 15 minutes, and then a Yellow snatched it by the time I got a block or two away and was wrapping up for the night so I didn't bother walking back. also there's a Gym right behind my apartment (on a jogging/biking trail) that I hadn't gotten to go near yet bc server issues, so a few minutes ago I walked over; some Reds had set up shop with three <100cp Pokemon. so I slapped them down and tossed a Lv500 Pidgeot in there. and then I found a 145cp Squirtle on my way back
this is actually more fun than I was expecting it to be
If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?
No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.
Yeah I was not into it at all at first, my train of thought went like "Meh I dunno there's no real combat and the system is weird and I just don't see the appeal and okay maybe I'll download it and pick squirtle and HOLYSHITACATERPIEYES"
also I'm super sad that there was a bulbasaur near my apartment when I first downloaded the game and I didn't know how to do anything and by the time I got ready to go outside it was gone ;-;

this happened to me also
man it's so weird to just go on a walk and just see the sheer volume of people who are obviously playing pokemon go

Yeah my girlfriend and her little brother went to the park to play because it's a pokestop, and there were like 7 or 8 other people doing the same thing
This is awesome. Being able to actually interact with people who play the same game as you is great. I play overwatch and I'm sure lots of other people do too but i don't get to actually see that.

do you ever see any tufts of shaking grass
No. There's a spinner thing about three miles away, but no gyms or shaking grass visible anywhere.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
