Yeah I think I spent around 100 hours, but then I did spend a
lot
of time dicking around, exploring, plus completing all 120 shrines (discovered around 105 myself, the last 15 I used walkthroughs to find and am thankful because I don't think I'd have found a single one of the remaining 15 alone).

Same here - I tried to go in unspoiled but there were a few details which found their way to me - but not this. First
saw one flying up in the air and went "the fuck is that"
. Next time was
near the canyon where the red one came along right fucking next to me, I was like "what a majestic bastard"
. Honestly up there with some of my best gaming experiences.

Sometimes I wonder for botw how my experiences compare to others because its such an unscripted game.
My experience with the dragons was great. Saw one, Got the power shrine quest (had no idea what it was) then found the top of the mountain shrine where it walks you through getting a scale from the infected one. All flowed so well. Felt like a crafted experience.

edit:
I will say the biggest let down for me was that those shrines were only shrines though. I wish they gave some sort of unique enhancement. Even if much weaker than the divine beasts.

edit:
I know they wanted the clothing to remain relevant, but even if it was just like immunity to cold/heat/being shocked as a status.

I just wander around trying to complete the map.

I probably am behind you guys since I don't get to play as much as I want and I mainly just wander around. Took me about a week to get off the main area.

Clothing isn't even relevant if you have a frostblade/flamebade - only Death Mountain requires armor/potions.

thats not true, there are mountain areas where a flame blade isn't enough on its own

I've been wearing the Gerudo outfit all the time. Bought a second copy of it. Makes me look more like a female which is nice.

I only have the Barb helm!

I'm not talking about the Gerudo outfit...

Spoiler: Voe armor
In Gerudo Town, there's a secret shop you can only access if you go eavesdrop and overhear three women discussing the code to get in. Within that shop you can purchase the Voe armor and the Radiant armor.

my only gripe is the constant reminders that the switch is underpowered by the slowdowns i get. sometimes you get like 25 fps in areas
Playing in portable mode I only got slow downs in 2 locations. Wont say which because spoilers. I heard there was more when running at 1080 instead of 720 though.
yeah i got like one or two moments of slowdown but nothing serious, even then it caught back up to full FPS pretty quickly

BOTW (not really spoilers but just to be safe)
Spoiler:
I probably put 30-40 hours into it... did half the shrines (60ish), all four Divine Beasts, completed all the memories, got the Master Sword, etc.
was disappointed by there not being a final dungeon, but it really kinda makes sense.
i literally thought the castle was inaccessible until you got all four Divine Beasts... the fact you could just go there from the start was mind blowing.

anyway I'm pretty excited at the prospect of DLC. another dungeon is coming later this year. for now we get a Trial mode where you have to survive 45 waves of enemies but you get a perma-upgrade sword if you do. also Hard Mode. I will probably return and finish the rest of the shrines at that point.
i also get some pretty noticeable ghosting on the top left icons when i rotate when playing off the dock ;_;

guys lets swap friend codes!

Why would anyone be hype about the switch?

Zelda was fantastic, but the switch itself?

all those things people said wouldn't matter (portability; ease of social gaming; various controller layouts) are the exact reasons why i love it
