Hey guys. As a pathfinder player myself, I wanted to throw in that Archives of Nethys is a pretty solid site, even if you do kind of have to know what you're looking for a bit.

Have fun!

EDIT: It's also superior to d20pfsrd in every way when it comes to occult classes.

I probably shouldn't be in this game, it's just going to end in me criticizing everyone's builds and then feeling bad about it.

Sure, ask any questions you have.

I recommend starting with the core rulebook: http://zaffudo.com/sebe/Pathfinder%20Ro ... nting).pdf

There's a lot to read there. Start with the race and class descriptions and character creation rules and decide what type of character you would like to play.

It's not either/or. I'm not min-maxing--if I do play, my character will be a support healer and maybe take some summoning powers on the side--but I do feel strongly about building a character that can actually do the things it sets out to do. 3.5 and Pathfinder, unfortunately, are systems that like to give everyone a ton of options, but have most of them be random filler crap that just leaves you wondering in actual gameplay what went wrong. (And figuring out what's a trap and what's actually something amazing that I'd just never noticed before IS my way of messing around and having fun, but I know that doesn't mean it's fun for other people.)

Raybells can skype me if he wants. Wildshape/polymorph were nerfed a bit, but druids are still strong!

What tools do you guys use to build a character sheet? Does anyone have a Hero Lab license? Or a good Excel spreadsheet?

What rules are we using in this game? How many points to buy ability scores? Are we using just the Core Rulebook? Plus Psionic? Plus the Advanced Players Guide? I would like to suggest that we keep it as simple as possible to start. Like level 1 characters using Core Rulebook only. What are your thoughts?

I don't have a preference for what books we use tbh. I can work with some sort of character no matter how simple or complex we go :)

regardless of what caledf rules though i'll constantly be asking because i want to plan my character in advance. introducing source material early like we did in the 3.5 group can trip me up if i don't consider it as a possibility

also charles, check out myth-weavers for character sheets, it's free and has a lot of different systems. I happen to really like the experimental sheet for Pathfinder, but the old one works fine too.

There's a feline based druid and it seems really cool and I might be interested in running that from the APG. If we're not doing APG I can find something else.
