Honestly if you want a good religious based game? Play Arabia. You're guaranteed a religion, said religion gives you a bunch of minor science/culture bonuses (provided you focus on holy sites/religious buildings, which you should in this case), and Mamluks are stupid strong if you decide to go the warmonger route- brassherald

Updated OP with Elbirn's game's join code, because I think people can still join and spectate. If not, whatever. Also updated with a poll for the Civ for my next streaming game, now that I've had a chance to try most of the new Gathering Storm Civs. The last 3 are the ones I haven't had a real chance to try or see in action, so I voted for those. Feel free to add your voice, and I'll try and nail down regular times that I'll be streaming!- Maestro

I had to move my vote from Hungary to mess with making this a tie, as well.In post 108, Elbirn wrote:I greatly enjoy having the lone protest vote on Sweden while also being responsible for one of the votes for both Ottomans and France, thus making me a kingmaker who can withdraw my endorsement at any time

I'm not sure spectating is a feature but presumably you have all the "content" installed already it's just locked away behind a paywallIn post 110, Papa Zito wrote:Can you spectate if you don't have the DLC?
Also whatever civ you decide to play, maestro, if you still feel like posting the initial save I'll 100% do a playthrough of it. Be the Alt-History supplement to your thingy- Maestro

France it is! Polling is now closed, no Kingmaker needed
I'm going to be streaming the start soon, and getting a mod collection up for y'all
I'm honestly not sure if you caaaasan spectate, I just thought you could if you have the join code. Try it and report back?In post 110, Papa Zito wrote:Can you spectate if you don't have the DLC?
EDIT: Took me a bit to figure out what mods I wanted to use, but I made a collection on the Workshop so you can try them out for yourselves, and use them with the save file. For those who want to try mods but don't want to be overwhelmed, or for those who like knowing what they've signed up for, here's a list of all the major changes instituted by this collection:
- You and the AIs start with a Builder & Scout (to make early gameplay slightly faster/more interesting)
- Hugely expanded religion - including no cap on Religions in a map (I'm just trying this one out, not sure how it'll go)
- Far more EXP from Barbarians and far more Tribal Villages e.g. "Goody Huts"
- 51 new Bonus and Luxuries from
- Mines are slightly more balanced, no more "mine spam" on any Hill in the game (see here)
- Late-game specialist buffs and production buffs (click links for specifics)
- Adjacency bonuses for the Theatre Square/Acropolis, Industrial Zone/Hansa, and Commercial Hub/Suguba
- Enhancements to the mod manager screen, the "choosing Leader screen" from right before you start a game, the "Leader loading screen" (with all the info on unique abilities and units, etc.), and the in-game Great Person screen. Also has UI enhancements for in-game... just poke around a bit to get a feel of what shows up and where
- Adds a map generator with lots of options but DO NOTuse the "Import Natural Wonders from map data" setting. In my opinion, it's buggy and adds far too many NWs, which sometimes don't appear on correct tiles (example: "Lake" NWs with no surrounding coastline even, in the middle of the Ocean, NWs within 2 tiles of eachother... etc.)
- Unique Districts now have unique icons with the Vanilla district's color (e.g. Acropolis for the Greek, Cothon for the Phoenicians, etc.)
- Nicer and more historically accurate Civ/CS icons

After we explored our immediate area, we met a few CSes and Suleiman attacked and took over Vilnius. I declared a retaliatory war and have now (quite a few turns later) retaken the CS.Should we liberate them or keep it for ourselves? They may eventually join us again if we have enough Loyalty pressure on them... but who knows?
Spoiler: Eleanor of Aquitaine's France, ca. 200,000,000 BC or whatever, turn 66
Other things for those who didn't watch the stream:- Suleiman of the Ottomans is to the north, ostensibly along the road from Vilnius that disappears into the fog
- Matthias of Hungary is due west, and he seems fine - I think we traded delegations
- Kristina of Sweden is NW of us, hidden past some mountains - she has quite a few cities, IIRC
- Mansa Musa of Mali is quite a ways to the east, near a group of CSes - he doesn't like us rn
- We founded Protestantism and took Jesuit Education, meaning I can buy Campus/Theatre buildings with Faith - worth noting: I have the Religion Expanded mod, so a lot of the beliefs I may take I'm not sure if you'll have if you choose not to use the mods I've used, as listed in my last post
- We snagged the Oracle! definitely a boon to a Culture game
should we liberate Vilnius or keep the city for ourselves?Only you can help me decide...- GuyInFreezer

Re: Vilnius
How good is the land?
iirc Vilnius is a culture city state which means it could help you assuming you're going culture victory with EleanorShow"I used to think you had this elegant-trolly, minimalist playstyle. Then I realized the playstyle is ~Lazy~

I would suggest liberating Vilnius, but idk how Hungary is going to be. If they snipe the suzerain status from you then rip.
That being said, if you can hold onto them as suzerain, their bonus is that you get adjacency bonuses to theater squares for having active alliances? Idk what the fine print on that is but if you intend on having allies and building a fuckton of theater squares (protip you are cuz French Eleanor) then yeah thatll help culture output tons
Pedit: gif is much better at being succinct and saying what I say- Maestro

Except the Culture victory isn't really aCulturevictory, it's aTourismvictory. Culture CS only helps as much as it helps me keep up in Civics, I would think. But yeah, I see the point. @GIF: if you look at the screenshot and click "Open Image in New Tab" it should show at full res, 1000 x 1000 or whatever. The land is... ok? Good room for adjacency bonuses with the mountains, luxuries (IIRC) to the north, river, etc.
If I liberate, Kristina is more likely to steal the suzerainship from me, I would think. I have no idea how aggro any of the others will be in the long run. I get the feeling none of them are too happy with me just because we're on King and I haven't played on King often since GS came out because I've been derping around and trying the new shiny things.- Elbirn

Of course! But with that being saidIn post 120, Maestro wrote:Except the Culture victory isn't really aCulturevictory, it's aTourismvictory. Culture CS only helps as much as it helps me keep up in Civics, I would think.
1. Your tourism victory is going to rely on building a metric fuckton of TS's, as is your cheeky great work loyalty flipping, so might as well get the most out of them that you can
2. Higher raw culture output is going to help you get higher tourism sooner, because theater squares and all culture buildings/buildings with great work slots/most (all?) Of the wonders with GW slots, they're all in the civics tree, not the tech tree.- GuyInFreezer

If AI put metric tons of envoys to a city state thats when you go lol and take the city state again
Give the city to civ you feel like would war with, give the city to them for hella resource, go on war with them, and liberate it again.Show"I used to think you had this elegant-trolly, minimalist playstyle. Then I realized the playstyle is ~Lazy~

I don't know that I feel like worrying about this kind of mini-game. They're so close to the rest of my empire, they're bound to flip at some point due to Great Works. I'm going to keep them and use them as the effective beachead against Suleiman. In post 122, GuyInFreezer wrote:If AI put metric tons of envoys to a city state thats when you go lol and take the city state again

Also, @Elbirn and anybody else who wanted the save, here is another shared file. It's technically the Advanced Settings configuration save, but with the exact same Random and Map seeds, it should produce an identical game. Just drop it into your saves folder, then let us see your starts and let us know how it goes! Maybe take a solid screenshot like I did around the same turn (70, this time) so we can follow along.- GuyInFreezer
