Diamond/Pearl/Platnium was harder then that entire boss fight and I never played sun and moon.

I am never buying another pokemon game again these games fucking suck.
I want a fucking sonic mania but for fucking pokemon.

What Ali wants in a good pokemon game (this is what I can think of off the top of my head)
- A story I fucking care about or no story at all. Black/White had a good story from what I heard and I need to play it. But when I played Gen 6, I felt disrespected because it tried to have a story that I should care about, except I didn't care about it. Or Gen 1, you had no story at all, and it was still good.
- Difficulty not some handholding baby shit. So many people grew up with Pokemon their whole dam life and this handholding baby shit is an insult to them. And I don't want "oh that ONE battle was hard" I want "HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS HARD." My favorite gen was gen 4. They had the best games. They were difficult (Diamond/Pearl/Platnium) (I want something like that but HARDER I WANT TO FUCKING SUFFER). If you're going to give me a lucario to teach me how to mega evolve, why not just give me a fucking riolu instead of being such a piss easy game. Gen 4 gave you a Riolu. Gen 6 gave you a Lucario. I think that says a lot about how easy Gen 6 is compared to Gen 4.
- They had 1 DAM good postgame (Heart Gold/Soul Silver). I got to murder Kanto gym leaders with a Furret. I want to explore new shit.
- More reward in exploration. In Gen 1, legendaries weren't forced down your throat. You were given a master ball and told that the ball never failed, so if you saw a critter you loved, it was yours. That told you to explore and if you did you might found something you liked. I also want to talk to every NPC and get something like the dialogue from Earthbound. I mean, Earthbound is a better RPG then pokemon, but still.
- A gym for every type. There's no reason not to do this anymore. This also increases difficulty if you think about it, especially for nuzlocks or other challenge runs. Also, gym leaders having only 3 moves on their pokemon is not acceptable anymore. 6 Pokemon, each with 4 moves.
- Remove IVs, Egg Moves, and give us an option to change our hidden power by will instead of trying to come up with a specific IV spread. If every single one of your mons is going to want to have the exact same IV spread except for playing around certain things or hidden power, THEN YOUR MECHANIC IS TRASH SO YOU SHOULD GET RID OF IT. Egg Moves "If you breed with this pokemon and this pokemon, you'll get a move you'll actually care about, but sometimes you have to breed a pokemon with another pokemon, in order to breed that pokemon with another pokemon, just so you can breed THAT pokemon with another pokemon to get the move you want." Also everyone gens their mons in for vgc so if you just get rid of the things that make people want to gen their mons in for vgc, people will stop genning in their mons for vgc??????? Like, its not hard.
What makes natures and EVs okay is that because of their existance, you can turn a pokemon that usually isn't a tanky mon INTO a tanky mon and its like "wow, I found a new off meta strat for this mon I can use" and that shit gets seen and turns out to actually be good and turns out, you just defined a new way to use that mon. Or with EVs, you can do calcs to make sure they survive certain moves from certain mons. Natures and EVs contribute good things to teambuilding. IVs and Egg Moves don't.
- I would not mind harder puzzles (other then strength puzzles) to come back
- Not another fucking Fire/Fighting starter
- Game Corner. You don't have to model it off a casino, you can just model it off of an amusement park or an arcade.

edit: Also I just remembered, remove this fucking new xp share, its toxic and awful and makes games worse.

id like botw but with pokemon and classic pokemon battles
but they're not targetting my age group and demographic i suppose

it's just that in this the year 2019 with pokemon moving from handheld gameboys to the quasi-console, my standards are higher! i got oddysey i got botw and now want a real pokemon adventure too

really hoped they'd use let's go as an opportunity to split between products focusing on younger and older demographics, much the same way games in the mario universe different games are targetted at different age groups

I honestly don't care that much about whether i can catch every pokemon or not; I've already done that before, many times. I just want a gameplay experience that feels new and interesting and challenging and cohesive.

I'm impressed by the overworld graphics at least. Feels at least quasi-open world and genuinely 3D, with camera controls and all! Detail doesn't seem as pretty as BOTW though. Still, genuinely excited to see a Diamond/Pearl remake on this scale.

Wait, but is this only part of the game? (Their "Wild Area"?)
