Super Mario Maker 2 is out, and while I didn't play Super Mario Maker 1 I am having a blast with this. This thread is for sharing your own levels, talking about cool levels you've seen, sharing construction techniques, and anything else related to Super Mario Maker 2.

To start things off, I have made two levels so far. Neither of them is super amazing but I had fun making them.

Remember the Path!
MGP-SV2-MTF

My first idea I had as soon as I bought the game. It looks like a troll level, but there are indeed clues on which way to go!

Big Bob-bombs on the Summit
TRV-H1M-X1H

Based on the Big Bob-bomb Battlefield from Super Mario 64.

Okay, I know more people than just me have SMM2. I'd rather not shout my levels into a void.

That being said, here's something I made tonight that I'm proud of:

I'm tempted to buy it
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

I have found you not through this thread, but through a friend who liked your level. What are the damn odds. I submitted my levels, I'll play some levels soon.

Reviews of some Scummer levels!

Slushie Berry Forest
WJG-KJV-GDG

Oh my god this is a beautiful level. The vines, the trees, the way the platforms are set up, this is definitely the best-looking SMB3 snow level I've seen. I love that the red coins aren't mandatory, but if you collect them you get a special bonus. Great, great level.

Jolly Jelly Reservoir
WQM-LJB-PCG

Ranmaru really has the aesthetics down; wonderful use of the semisolid platforms to make this water level feel nothing like the featureless lake most water levels resemble. The difficulty seemed really easy, especially compared to the other two offerings, but not in a way where my intelligence felt insulted. Another fine job.

Murky Marsh
919-BHB-1NF

I died to the giant Cheep Cheep far more times than I should have. 0/5 stars.

No but seriously this is a good mix of platforming and shell-surfing.

Another forum I post on is doing weekly level design jams, where a theme is announced Monday and we have until Friday to make a level fitting that theme. Here's my submission for the first theme, which is "Yes Switch":

gonna def be posting in here haha, not sure what kind of levels you guys make but i just finished my first level. i'll submit it here in a sec and will def check your levels when i get the chance :]

also i played two levels by the guy who made celeste so i might as well give the codes since they were pretty fun!

Starlight Shells: PHP-GYT-VJG

god the anti gravity mechanic is sooooooooooooooooooo cool, honestly most of my deaths on this level were pretty stupid because i think it's p straight forward, though timing the jump on the shelmet onto the music block is a bit tricky. i accidentally cheesed my first clear though lmao

Shrine of the Sacred Stiletto: 5YG-7DN-PGG

fun red coin and boot level, i got through most of it but i still cant figure out the music block room aaaaaaaaaaa. the other rooms though had really cool platforming with jumping in and out of boots (not just stilettos!)

also eh im not really sure if my level is kaizo-y enough to be called a kaizo level but there is a pretty precise regrab right before the checkpoint, it's too fast paced and centered around hard platforming to really be called a classic level though imo?

Starlight Shells was really cool! It took me way longer than it should have to figure out that music block thing.

I have a few new levels myself!

Picking up this game in the next couple days. ego
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?

I only have Super Mario Maker on the 3DS, but I don't play it a lot anymore.

I can remember that I made some Mario Kart levels, where I put some enemies in Clown Cars, and you had to catch up in your own Clown Car.
The tracks I remember to have made were a Luigi Circuit (in the style of SMK), Chain Chomp Caverns (with some Chain Chomps, and the finish was inside a big Chomp built out of blocks), an underwater race with Cheep Cheeps and a lava stage along the lines of Freezeflame Galaxy.
Oh, why did I delete them...

Do your best to get as many coins as you can, and get out safely!

Gentle Descent

1-1 DLROW
SQG-3VB-34G
Wait, you're telling me "touché" doesn't rhyme with "douche?"

Desbug, Ceave, and DGR have great MM2 content.

if you were able to get all 3 of the overworld key coins you made it past what is (probably) the trickiest puzzle of the level. Now just some platforming and route-planning remains.

Also, I really enjoyed the portabello pyramid level

I can get the three coins but then I'm stuck. Is if possible to get the second red coin without losing your Mushroom?

it is possible to get all the red coins in the overworld without losing your mushroom (since you need the mushroom to take the pipe to the subworld)

Spoiler: hint
How many coins are you getting with the star power? Do you think it's possible to use the invincibility to get more than one?

Spoiler: Here's what I do
Get the mushroom in the block, lose it to the Piranha/Saw in the process of getting the P-Switch. Wait until 470 seconds are left and get the second mushroom that drops. Hit P-Switch and leap over lava. Dodge the first Thwomp, jump on its head (losing mushroom) and ride it to the block/coin before the P-Switch expires and get the second coin. Dodge Thwomps, go through one-way gates, and enter door. Jump immediately to make block appear and kill Thwomp a second before it kills me. Make my way over to donut block, go back and activate second P-Switch by the coin. Ride donut block down, go through P-Door, get star, kill two Thwomps, wait for star to wear off, ride third Thwomp to get coin.

Now I'm stuck because if I go through the door again the Thwomp will respawn and since I've already activated the hidden block I will die.

It is possible to get this coin without taking damage.
go over, not under

It is possible to get down to below the hidden blocks a second time.
did you notice one of the hidden blocks makes a "WRONG!" sound effect if you activate it?

also,
the best way to complete this section does not involve riding any thwomps

I've got a new level, and this one is significantly less puzzle-y and much more platform-ey.

Difficulty Select

The number of coins indicates the difficulty of each path. Choose paths in order to maximize your coin collecting and be rewarded for skillful platforming while being able to avoid parts that are too challenging. Don't take too many easy paths though, or you'll have to complete some much more difficult challenges at the end!
