back in the good old days before "obvtowning" "townblocing" "POEing" and "solving" became popular, it was a better time[to be scum]. We didn't bother to look for consensus or read each other off cheat meta tricks, we pulled wrote out long verbose letters DEMANDING the death of our enemies[real or imagined] and spent MONTHS litigating each word back and forth. Entire years would go by without a game ending - moderators would flake, come back, and then flake again never to be seen again. Night phases were only suggestions and day starts a ridiculous concept. I died before I got to post in every game for an entire year and a half.

you know its funny I was literally talking about this to my normie friends the other day, explaining how 8 day deadlines are normalish deadlines now but would have been ridiculous back in the day.

Basically, don't tell me all the mechanics of your role, but the standard of "Cop" is "target one player, receive their alignment" right?

So letting me know if your ability is better, worse or the equal to that gives me an idea on funding.

Doc Enchant 75 = i'm ngl i really dont think it makes sense to doc enchant - if you give him money and he investigates and the scum have to waste their nightkill on enchant and leaves us alive and enchant dead thats a win in my book

I think funding the cop is the part that is the misplay. The vig is kind of whatever, but I think if you're doing that you just don't fund the cop and save the money. The scum doesnt know what you're doing with the money so they have to play like theres a funded cop regardless so if you're not protecting him might as well save the money or fund a different role. Spewing 100 bucks on enchant when you're not protecting him here feels like a scum claim to me.

Bingle is just lying about funding, he dumped all of the town money to LLD, I think that could come back to bite him if town finally gets to put a non-scum player in treasurer slot and see how the funding works. There's just simply no way bingle only had $189 dollars here like he's claiming while simultaneously claiming that LLD left money. The town would have to roll like a sub 1%er on funding for that to be true.

One thing I expected to be pretty big strategically was the idea of partial funding of roles so that scum would have to decide to risk killing a cop that 75% would get a result who might be 40-50% protected.

But not a single person has even seemed to consider such a usage of roles.

its not really a gambit, if you half fund the doc and make it be known that you half fund the doc scum has a choice to make. If they try to kill the cop they risk a successful protect which can essentially mech clear both the doc and the cop. The threat of doc is almost as powerful as the doc itself, which might cause them to target someone else entirely.

Basically I think a 100 cop and a 50% protect is pretty clearly the correct play tonight but no one seems to have even thought of it.

I think in no world does LLD claim to have used a tracker on the cop when she didnt and it seems like that would be an especially weird thing for her to do as scum who knows SK is town and knows any action but protect on SK is nonsense. She did use PK on him which means she knows that he didnt do the factional kill either but she also knows that by virtue of being in the room discussing who should do the factional kill. Anyway town is so incredibly fucked this game.
