So this is my current understanding of the setup alongside a few questions and comments.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebels = Town
Simotech = Mafia
Aeon Technologies = Also Mafia but different in a way.
1. (Outcasts) Jason Oakes: Rebel Neighbor Serum Giver Conditional Vigilante
- Outcast: Neighbor
- Drugs: +2 Serum; +1 Coin
- Bullets: -2 Coins; Vigilante
- Seems to be a mediocre to strong power role.
2. (Outcasts) John Ryes: Rebel Neighbor Serum Addict
- Outcast: Neighbor
- Syringes: +1 Serum Upkeep
- Seems to be a strictly negative utility role.
3. (Iustitia) Zachary Matthews: Rebel Best Friend Conditional Limited Mason
- Bond: Best Friend with Emily Dunn
- Union (C 1): Enables talk for 1 cycle (including the phase it is used.)
- Best Friends/Masons tend to be a fairly strong role, although it's probably less useful in a large compared to a mini.
4. (Iustitia) Emily Dunn: Rebel Best Friend Conditional Limited Mason
- Bond: Best Friend with Zachary Matthews
- Union (C 1): Enables talk for 1 cycle (including the phase it is used.)
- Best Friends/Masons tend to be a fairly strong role, although it's probably less useful in a large compared to a mini.
5. (GenX Inc) Liam Porter: Rebel Conditional Roleblocker
- Strange Vodka (C 2; UK 1): Roleblock Player
- Roleblocking is of limited use in a large especially, and more often then not, it is seen as a scummy role. Nonetheless, it should be of mediocre power, and it really shines if all the scum are eliminated.
+ I would suggest possibly reducing the serum cost for this role though. 2 serum seems to be too much to use this ability every night.
6. (WNGD Research) Evelyn Hart: Rebel Conditional Messenger
- Memories (C 1; UK 1): Sends a message to another player.
- This is likely a very weak role.
+ I do wonder if the upkeep part of the role is really needed to balance this role. Heck, maybe you could increase the cost of the role and remove the upkeep entirely; I think that might work better.
7. (WNGD Research) Ryan Hawkins: Rebel Conditional Bulletproof
- Black Wings (C 5): Renders the player bulletproof for 1 night.
- This seems to be a fairly strong role for town; however, the serum cost is rather high.
8. (Johnson and Family) Shawn Grant: Rebel Conditional Bulletproof
- ARCHangel (C 5): Renders the player bulletproof for 1 night.
- This seems to be a fairly strong role for town; however, the serum cost is rather high.
9. (Securipal) Audrey Larsson: Rebel "Fruit" Vendor 1-Shot Conditional Mass-Neighborizer
- Relations: Basically behaves like a Fruit Vendor. Sends a red seal to a player and notifies them.
+ Q: Is the player's name or the role's name included with the seal? Or do they just receive a generic "You received a business meeting invite with a red seal" message?
- Meeting: Neighborizes everyone that has a red seal. There is some uncertainty in this.
- While neighborizers are always fun roles, they are rather weak by themselves. This variant seems to be even weaker. (That said, town ofc does not need a bunch of strong roles.)
10. (Securipal) Lucas Chase: Rebel Macho Conditional Marked Tracker
- Mark (C 1; UK {Marks} + 1): Tracker ability that continues to track players each night as long as the upkeep is maintained.
- Secrets: Cannot be protected at night.
- This has the potential of being a really powerful role, but its power is also heavily limited by its serum cost.
11. (Securipal) Diane Castro: Rebel (Conditional Elite) Bodyguard
- Security: Basically a bodyguard ability.
- Infusion (C 3; UK 1): The elite form of bodyguard; kills everyone who attempts to kill the protect target.
- While bodyguard is a really weak role, elite bodyguard is a really good role.
- Q: How does this role interact with the macho modifier?
12. (Securipal) David Scott: Rebel Conditional Bulletproof
- ARCH (C 5): Renders the player bulletproof for 1 night.
- This seems to be a fairly strong role for town; however, the serum cost is rather high.
13. (GenX Inc) Elizabeth Roberts: Rebel "Fruit" Vendor 1-Shot Conditional Mass-Neighborizer
- Relations: Basically behaves like a Fruit Vendor. Sends a blue seal to a player and notifies them.
+ Q: Is the player's name or the role's name included with the seal? Or do they just receive a generic "You received a business meeting invite with a blue seal" message?
- Meeting: Neighborizes everyone that has a blue seal. There is some uncertainty in this.
- While neighborizers are always fun roles, they are rather weak by themselves. This variant seems to be even weaker. (That said, town ofc does not need a bunch of strong roles.)
14. (WNGD Research) Alex Jane: Rebel (Conditional Elite) Bodyguard
- Protecting: Basically a bodyguard ability.
- Enrage (C 3; UK 1): The elite form of bodyguard; kills everyone who attempts to kill the protect target.
- While bodyguard is a really weak role, elite bodyguard is a really good role.
- Q: How does this role interact with the macho modifier?
15. (GenX Inc) Amber Vargas: Simotech Goon
- Vanilla role.
16. (WNGD Research) Ortega: Simotech "Fruit" Vendor 1-Shot Conditional Mass-Neighborizer
- Shaping: Basically behaves like a Fruit Vendor. Sends a green seal to a player and notifies them.
+ Q: Is the player's name or the role's name included with the seal? Or do they just receive a generic "You received a business meeting invite with a green seal" message?
- Action: Neighborizes everyone that has a green seal. There is some uncertainty in this.
- While neighborizers are always fun roles, they are rather weak by themselves. This variant seems to be even weaker.
- This role does weaken the town neighborizers in terms of claiming confirmation, which is probably a good thing. Too many named townies could present an issue.
17. (GenX Inc) Lucy Underwood: Simotech Goon
- Vanilla role.
18. (Aeon Technologies) Will Grant: Aeon Technology Goon
- Q: How much of role pms, if at all, are revealed on flips?
- Strength is misspelled as "Strenght".
19. (Aeon Technologies) Sarah Nichols: Aeon Technology Goon
------
Aeon Technology Factional Abilities:
Max of 2 bots present in the game.
Can only make a bot once.
Cannot make more than one bot per night.
All actions (except #0) are basically
Inventor actions because they have to be given.
0. Revolution: Faction Joiner
- 10 Serum: Combines the Simotech and Aeon Technologies factions; Aeon Technologies loses factional abilities.
- This is indeed a powerful ability, though I do wonder if the serum cost is worth it.
1. Mecha (T = No): Ascetic.
- Becoming ascetic is generally a good power for scum.
2. Joust-QXP (T = No): Conditional Suicidal Conditional Self Modified Traitor-izer Conditional -1 Serum Upkeep Hidden Amnesiac Self-Follower
- Aeon Technologies: Suicidal
- Simotech: Self Modified Traitor-izer
- Rebel: -1 Serum UK; Hidden Amnesiac Self-Follower (Results sent to Aeon Technologies)
- If I'm being honest, this bot seems almost strictly negative utility since 1) Aeon Technologies will have to identify Simotech scum, 2) Follower, while an OK ability, isn't super strong, and 3) Even if Aeon Technologies gets a useful result from the Follower ability, what are they going to do about it?
3. MX75-Mk4 (T = Yes): Bulletproof Self-Roleblocker
- Bulletproof is probably gonna be pretty powerful (for town) in this game. On the other hand, the self-roleblocking aspect of the bot is potentially useful. Overall though, I'd say this bot is fairly negative utility. There's just too much potential for things to go wrong here to justify the roleblocking aspect.
4. S1LV3R (T = No): Conditional Top Serums Announcer Conditional Non-Factional Private Communication Disabler Conditional Self-Destructing (Conditional Mass-Serum Destroyer)
- Can be given serum by Aeon Technologies.
- 5 Serum: Announces publicly the player(s) with the most serum.
- 10 Serum: Blocks non-factional private communication.
- 15 Serum: Destroys all serum owned by Rebels and self-destructs.
- This bot seems particularly strong and worth building, although the serum thresholds are on the high side (which helps balance it).
5. Proto-X (T = Yes): Vigilante
- Only after "Revival" or "The Takeover".
- Basically replaces the Simotech factional kill when they lose it for some reason.
6. Kill Switch (T = No; Not a bot): Conditional Vigilante
- Destroys a bot and its owner.
- Potentially useful when combined with bots like Joust.
------
Events
1. The Takeover: Simotech < Aeon Technologies.
- Last Simotech becomes Bulletproof Serial Killer (UK 1).
-- Exactly what is the purpose of the serum upkeep here? To keep the bulletproof? I honestly think that aspect should be removed.
- Unlocks Proto-X. (So Aeon Technologies becomes the new scum faction.)
2. Revival: Aeon Technologies = 0
- Simotech becomes Aeon Technologies basically.
- Unlocks Proto-X. (So the factional kill basically persists.)
-- Can a kill still be performed the night of the revival? (As in, they'd still have to build the bot first, right?)
3. Revolution: 10 Serum Factional Joiner
- Already discussed above in Aeon Technologies factional abilities.
4. The Vault: Town > (Scum Dead + 3)
- Everyone receives 2 serum.
- Good self-balancing mechanic imo; it introduces some negative feedback to help town get back on track.
5. Justice is Dead: Both masons dead. (Technically, the proper role would be Best Friends as masons have private chat, but these masons have conditional private chat.)
- Everyone becomes hated.
- I don't really see the purpose of this event? Is this event public? It seems only to serve to frustrate everyone, town particularly. I'd advise removing it tbh.
6. Business is Business: 2+ business meets in one night.
- Merges the business meets.
- Potentially useful, potentially useless event. I'd say keep it just for the fun factor.
