um i realize that when there's like fruit vendor and visitor and useless roles that can be handed out then aristocrat is kind of good (but also seems like it could be a fakeclaim ish)

^ which isn't the biggest deal, it won't affect balance a lot (and i think the role idea is just separately interesting, both to use later and for the players to try to evaluate) but i think it just gives olfs an accidental way to enact a lot of control

remembering that it only works on townies or unknownies maybe this is only B tier

also i don't really mind that olfs are slightly inactive but it sort of feels bad on my part that they seem to be letting their abilities pickle way harder than they ought to

sky was immediately like "ok i can think of some rando reason to use these two things" and it worked out but they haven't used a green yet (which they really ought to have by now - tracker & roleblocker should very likely have gone out already)

unfortunately this is hard to like. re-run and try the idea again (different forum maybe?) but i can think in the future of ways to encourage people to just pop things out when they feel like it. this thing has a lot of soft deadlines e.g. "get green roles out b4 day 4", "use tracker before day 3," etc. as well as the general thought "well i should get this out at some point but it'd be ideal to delay this as long as possible in case it turns out to be redundant." so as an olf you're sort of grappling with that and it has the problem i often have with like school deadlines where ohhh i can just put it off for a little bit.... and then e.g. chemist sleeps through the night deadline

takeaways so far:

• if you're doing a "this group of people is chatting individually and not interacting with the larger group" you NEED to help them HARD to stay active. the olfs are not low activity players and they have things to talk about but (in keeping with my observation in jury mafia a while back) it's still a struggle - and i guess it didn't help that this thing crept up on them a little bit.
  
• give a relatively small amount of hard deadlines. looking at mbos4 for example, there were 3 things i asked the scum to do and they had to get it done by eod - wasn't a problem (and ok i guess that's basically what day / night deadlines already do but etc). the soft deadlines here seem to make it hard to decide when to start to do stuff in a way that hampers taking action
  
• god its so unhealthy for the game when you just fakeclaim useless 3ps all the time and yes i know one of them did it because they were a rulebreaker and they wanted to stall but just do that as little as possible and as mod see about preventing people from doing that (i probably should have more ambitiously clarified and locked off 3p possibilities looking how d1 went)
