I didn't want us to claim so early about it Mastie baby. I can't believe you've done this.

Well I wasn't planning on claiming it early, either. :P

I felt like claiming helped expose Cheeky as scum, in a way not possible otherwise.

It WAS a bit impulsive, I do apologize for that, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I just.
Saw scum.
In a place where the only way to reveal the scum was to myself claim.

Like.
You agree Cheeky is scum, right?
Do you think that we could get that Lynch without the claim?
Because my reason for the scumread RELIES on the claim, kinda sorta.

Also.
I feel like claiming helped expose more than just Cheeky as scum, from the reactions.

In particular, Panzer.
Vigging a mason claim is an appeal to fear. A town player would know that vigging one mason leads to the immediate nightkill of the other. Panzer is not stupid enough to not realize that fact.

Ergo.
His threat?
Blatant survivalism.

Basically.
Know that old expression?
"No plan survives contact with the enemy"?
I planned on not claiming so soon.
I made contact with the enemy, scum, and the plan didn't survive. :P

There's a correlated expression tho.
Two in fact.
"Plans are worthless, but planning is indespensible" (fuck, phone spellcheck isn't giving me the right word, you know the expression even though I botched the last word)
And.
"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade".

The plan didn't pan out. Not as I had intended, not as you wanted, so not optimal.
But.
Take a page out of your scum book.
I believe that at some point you verbatim said, "We can make this work"? (Could be mistaken, but I coulda SWORN I remember hearing you say that when scum.)

Well.

We can make this work.

The claim wasn't as I planned, but the claim still has its unique advantages. Exposing scum as being scum, for instance.

(And yes, I consider masons to be taking pages from their scum books smart play--because, like scum, they are an INFORMED minority, with a PT…

Btw, Elsa, at some point can I get a list of the times you could've plausibly posted in this PT since the game began?

At some point, to prove the masonry is real, I'll naturally want to paraphrase.
When I paraphrase, I usually include timestamps--down to the minute if I can get away with it; down to the hour if I can't get away with minute; down to the generic morning/afternoon/evening if I can't get away with hour; down to the day if I can't get away with that--but by this point, almost every mod allows me to get away with it.

When I paraphrase the PT, there won't be MUCH to modify...but to sell the story, there will be a point where I need to insert your begging me not to claim posts--basically, keeping it mostly accurate, but for that one fabrication. I prefer exaggeration over fabrication when at all possible, but while the conversation we had technically can be seen as having happened for realz (starting this page, after the fact, rather than last page, before the fact), if I can get away with any form of timestamp paraphrase, I wouldn't be able to quite sell that because the time gap is too severe. (I can however sell this page as being "MASTINA NO D:" "I'M SORRY IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME", because it more or less
was
. :P)

(Basically, I'll need to paraphrase the PT in order to sell it as a masonry. If I can't do this, then it'll be proven not to be one, because I always paraphrase PTs of mine.)

Wait, how would it prove to be a Masonry instead of just a neighborhood or -god forbid- a scum PT?

In post 34, Elsa Jay wrote:Wait, how would it prove to be a Masonry instead of just a neighborhood or -god forbid- a scum PT?
Because I am Very Good at Exaggerating, and highly adverse to Fabricating. :P

Our PT here is fairly close to what a mason PT would be actually, believe it or not--there's almost no difference in how I'd post.
The main difference?
Instead of asking if we wanted to mason gambit, I'd be celebrating that we were masons;
Instead of saying Krazy/Ank must've seen this coming, I'd have stated they gave me literally my dream role and it was fucking perfect;
I might have left a comment about breadcrumbing--which is where I would presume your comment about not claiming would more or less fit in. (I'd have pointed out how I am being a cheeky townfuck with the amount of 'crumbing I was doing; I'm assuming your concerns about claiming would be about here time-wise.)

So all I need to do to convince people it's a masonry instead of a neighborhood is to, more or less, paraphrase it as-is...but with the above alterations--exaggeration, without fabrication. Slight shifts in content, without radically altering the content. About the same number of posts, about the same amount of content within the posts, about the same tone of the content in the posts, just changed from neighborhood-focused to masonry-focused.

Like I said--I pioneered the mason gambit; I know how to pull it off convincingly. :P
Mind you, contrary to what's been said in-thread (which is actually kinda suspicious mind you), I've never done it as scum--I
could
, and you have no way of knowing this isn't the first scumgame ever where I did, but the fact is that I
currently
never have done it as scum and have exclusively done it before as town; the narrative that I can be scum fakeclaiming mason is suspicious-as-fuck because it's utter bullshit that has no basis in reality.

Lying about dates/hoping for the best opens the gambit up for failure tho and I am a perfectionist who likes to get things right, dammit. :P

And I rely on luck and usually win when it isn't a marathon game for some reason.

Today my only reason for posting would be out of sheer absolute utter boredom.
I'll be posting tomorrow, but don't feel like posting today. Like I said--I might anyway, if out of sheer absolute utter boredom desperation sets in and I decide to kill time by playing, but otherwise, rest day today, content day tomorrow.

Don't have time to post RIGHT NOW (won't until later tonight), but I did catch TTTT's informed townie claim.

Krazy LOVES his informed townies.
He puts them in most if not all of his games.

While I recognize that Krazy could break his meta and give scum an informed mafiate.
And technically speaking he's KIND OF SORT OF done so before.
It's still DISPROPORTIONATELY likely a town claim.

Not ABSOLUTELY town, but enough to be well out of the scum pool for quite a while.

Dont you just love it when you have to meta-read a Mod to guess townies? Bleh.

I just don't like that part of the game, really.

Like I said.
TTTT's claim doesn't
inherently
mean he's town (though it does significantly increase the odds he is town), but it IS a claim that is inherently real and not a fakeclaim.

It's a realclaim, the only question is alignment and like I said alignment-wise there's a good 90ish% chance it's town. Informed roles are usually given to town in his games.
